Personally there isn't much that AMD has to offer that Nvidia doesn't have...

I'd get a 980ti or something.

But that's just me.

I don't see why a 780 cant suffice but sure why not? In CFX supported games you will see hugs gains, and in non CFX supported games it will still be a little better. Just make sure you have enough wattage with your PSU.

Maybe secure another 780?

Forgive me El Guapo. I know that I, Jefe, do not have your superior intellect and education...

No.

If anything get a gtx 980ti, otherwise upgrading isn't really worth it.

A fury x is a nice card. Don't let the fanboys tell you different. AMD and Nvidia are throwing big blows at each other and right now it's all up to,personal preference. The r9 390 at the same price is outdoing the 970. A 390x is outdoing the 980. The fury x and 980ti are VERY similar it's really up to how the game is optimized. It's crazy.

It's not about AMD of nvidia. They are both awesome, it's not about switching brands.

The question is are you not satisfied with the 780? And why not? What resolution do you play at? If you need an upgrade then look at the performance of the available products and make a decision.

If the price is right then yeah 295X2 is a great upgrade over 780, been using Nvidia cards for last 4 years and i dont really use the features people call reason to have Nvidia, GF Experience is load of crap, i always optimise game settings myself, i only have 1 game that has PhysX support and its bugged anways and runs like crap, and AMD recording software is very decent aswell compared to ShadowPlay according to AMD using mates who record with Raptr.

I've got a 780 Classy that just sits on top of a GTX 580, why? Because my 290x does exactly what the 780 does. Only game it has issues with is project cars but I don't really play it much to start with. I personally prefer AMD's multi monitor support vs Nvidia's. As well as a few other things cause of overclocking.

295x2 smokes the 980Ti and TitanX without effort. Why choose a 980Ti when the 295x2 costs the same and does 30FPS more?

@HazeBox

That being said. What is your PSU?

It's also got almost 2x the power draw when gaming at times

i own one, its not 2x before you OC it.

Typical REAL draw (high load) for a 980Ti is 370-385W.

The R9 295x2 is between 530(stock)-680w(OC)

I'm talking about the card alone not a full system...

Both of these are from Guru3D

This

Asking whether you should switch to AMD is the wrong question. AMD is a viable option yes. But the real question is why are you not satisfied with the 780? And within your upgrade budget what's the best alternative (be it NVIDIA or AMD).
