SPG got a reaction from vanished in R9 390 vs R9 390x
if he wants high power and heat get vega, a 390 is more of a side grade than an upgrade

SPG got a reaction from Mr.Meerkat in Vega 64 underclocks under load
vega came out with no crossfire support then got it a few months late, then AMD broke it again. Deus ex has a profile but it only works in dx11.
Apart of me wishes I got 2 1080tis instead, but the other half of me doesn't want to buy a nvidia card because I don't like their business decisions. People say vote with your wallets, but it's hard to do that when you lack options

SPG got a reaction from Mr.Meerkat in Vega 64 underclocks under load
reinstalled, yes
rolling back, no
I would normally rollback but it's not that big of a deal. I only want crossfire for Deus ex because a single GPU only runs the game at 50fps in the most demanding area maxed out
I'll live and continue to be patient......sometimes I regret getting my Vegas

I'll play around with it and come back in a few hours to see if it helped. Thanks

SPG got a reaction from Crunchy Dragon in Question about grapics cards.
GPUs use to be on the mobo itself, this changed when they became more powerful and needed more complex cooling solutions and more space on the pcb.

SPG got a reaction from Hiya! in HD 6XX available on MD again - 10,000 units available
they're not actually made yet, they do a massive order and get all units shipped to massdrop. Sometimes it only takes a month to get items, but in this case it takes longer.

SPG got a reaction from DailyProcrastinator in Need help deciding on what motherboard to get. I can't figure out why these are priced so differently.
The Forumla is more expensive mainly because it has a waterblock on it to cool the parts of the motherboard, I'm sure it has more features, but that's the main reason why it costs more. If you don't plan on doing a custom water cooling loop, the extra cost probably isn't worth it to you.
The Hero is more expensive than the gaming because it has more capacitors and vrms. Essentially is just means it will probably overclock your CPU better without getting too much heat, I'd personally go with the hero because it's only $25 more the the gaming.
(I'm sure there are more glaring differences, but these are the ones that stood out to me the most)

SPG got a reaction from DocSwag in AMD Vega FE drivers
worst case scenario....it's my card that is having the issue, but I really hope that isn't the case because I really don't want to take apart my water cooled loop

SPG got a reaction from vanished in Trying to hear two audio sources at once
I seem to got it to work. Everyone was saying to make it a mic input, and not line in. What port I plug audio in doesn't actually matter all that much apparently because a pop up asks me what it is. So if I select line in instead of mic it works fine and as it should. Thank you guys for the help.

SPG reacted to doits in Trying to hear two audio sources at once
Plug tv audio into blue 3.5mm line in on motherboard. Then you can control volume and windows mixes it. Then use green 3.5 to headset.

oh, one of those. rip. Well, it probably says in the manual which one is what, but I really wish manufacturers wouldn't do this. There is a universally agreed upon standard colour coding for a reason

SPG got a reaction from Zando_ in PS4 GAME ARE ALL ULTRA
probably medium low? if it's running anything at ultra the frame rate would be terrible, resolution is low, or it's a shitty port to pc

SPG got a reaction from Carlos1010 in Worth getting a new GPU at this moment?
Vega comes out next month, I'd wait. Even if you don't want an AMD card they might bring Nvidia prices down.

SPG got a reaction from PrimeSonic in An experiment in more efficient water cooling
going to be honest, you should save your money get a new mobo, cpu and gpu, because there is no point in buying anything in the am3 socket anymore, especially since ryzen exists.
-
SPG got a reaction from PrimeSonic in An experiment in more efficient water cooling
wait for the cheaper cpus, I'm not saying to get a 1800x
but your current cpu (and everything else on am3) will bottle neck any half decent gpu. If you want to spend $700+ on a custom water cooling loop for literally no reason, be my guess. Custom is not cheap by any stretch of the imagination.

SPG got a reaction from King_of_Oz in RX 480 CrossFire worth it?
since you already have a 480 yes, if you wanted to buy 2 brand new ones, no, it would be better to wait for vega
I'd still suggest you buy vega and sell your old 480 though

SPG got a reaction from You_are_a_cunt in AMD and Bethesda Softworks Partner
not sure how bethesda can "propel pc gaming forward" when their game engine is ancient and all their games are riddled with bugs and glitches (ie games not made by id software)

SPG got a reaction from HungryHamster in When does 144Hz 3440x1440 ultrawide IPS come?
2-3 years down the road when a new single GPU is released that will actually be able to run that on modern games
