you dont clean up by deciding what to toss away, you clean up by deciding what to keep based on one question:
    "does this item spark joy?"

that term is a very japanese mindset though.. so i often just refer to "does owning this improve my life , at least equal to how much space it takes up?"

or in other words.. what it comes down to is.. 'making the decision' to throw things away is hard. making that a decision to keep something makes the "dispose" option much easier.

the bank should be able to help you with this. in theory any money that belonged to the deceased goes into the inheritance, and gets handled from that end. as far as i'm aware over here at least banks freeze the respective accounts until the inheritance has been settled to make sure none of the family members run off with money that isnt rightfully theirs (yet). but really.. this is not a matter for a tech forum, because the problem at hand is far from technical.

not "older" keyboards, it's just the standard layout to have two.

the idea is that like shift and ctrl, it's a modifier key, and you can use either hand to access it, while using the other hand to access the key you want to "modify".

it's just that the windows key is rarely used in today's "what are hotkeys anymore" era of computing.

that sounds very similar to the behavior i'd expect when your boot drive is dying, might be worth checking that before you spend hours upon hours of troubleshooting.

my usual go-to brand is CSB, they have a series specificly for UPS use.
i've ran an ultracell once, and it did fairly well, defenately better than kung long..

it's a horrid market to be in. margins are razor thin, competition is fierce, and if you have any sense of honor in your body you'll lose to the most ruthless of scammers out-competing you.

a place i used to work at did this on the side, we were our own source for old computers so we essentially had no purchase cost past a pile of kingston A400 SSD's, and even then we were lucky to sell our own inventory at some sense of profit before they got too old to even bother selling.

it's just that those inverters tend to be.. expensive.

but that said, the setup proposed in the video is really the way to go if you dont feel comfortable modifying a UPS to handle a bigger battery.

the reason UPS'es are expensive, is because they are designed to run 24/7 and be able to take over the load at a moment's notice. a separate inverter will still mean that a power outage takes out your computer, you then need to plug it in the inverter and start it up again.

on that note.. most cheap inverters are utter garbage. as it turns out making something good costs money.

as for the replacement batteries.. there's two strong suggestions for you:
    - most of them just have regular standard lead-acid batteries below the "manufacturer's label" on the battery. when the battery goes jello you pull it out, peel the marketing label off, see what's underneath, order that, and call it a day.
    - if you want to run off a car battery to have 'all day battery life'.. either buy a UPS with an external battery connector, or just remove the battery from a regular office UPS and run the leads out to a pair of car batteries (pair because you really want a 24 volt unit)

afaik the EU doesnt specificly disallow those things to be in a TOS, they just have rules for what a TOS can or cannot enforce. so they can claim your first born in the TOS, but that is not something enforcable by TOS so it is essentially void even if it is there and agreed to.

i agree that this is a TERRIBLE thing to be in a TOS (and in the EU is considered void afaik) but the stated example is something where discord essentially cant be a party to the problem unless they do creepy levels of snooping on PM's.

isopropyl alcohol is a fairly safe place to start, just a few drops on one part of the rubber and see if it releases.
past that, hairdryer to the point it's just barely too hot to touch can be done too. dont go too far with heat though, you'll damage things very fast with too much heat.

i have to say it's really an "easy content, but actually did some serious effort" type of feel on this one. aside from the tier list i like the quick "history lesson" that this turns out to be.

on that note.. the PS3's rather disappointing game library made me go from PS1 to PS2, to nintendo wii.

the wii is also the last console i've bought, despite returning to the game store SEVERAL more years i always ended coming home with a pc game to play on holiday, rather than a new console.

on that note, i am slightly disappointed that the switch made it to S tier, but the wii didnt. i still own the wii i bought in 2007, and the balance board i bought in 2008. of ALL the gadgets we have piled up in the attic, the only thing that regularly descends from the heavens for family events is the crusty old wii.. because nothing before it, and nothing after it will capture that "quirky party game" vibe like the wii did. yes the games are incredibly simple, but the simplicity is what makes it so "timelessly fun". i can load up wii fit's ski jump minigame, and no matter the audience, everyone will have a blast.
the only huge downside.. is that the "great" wii games are very rare.. with my "top 10" including "achtung wii kurve" - a hacky homebrew port of "achtung die kurve / curve fever", a silly snake-alike flash game, that apparently sorely needed tilt controls to be even more unplayable.

there's a lot of fossilzed bone that has legitimately zero scientific value, usually either because a LOT of skeletons were found, or the fragments that were found are, well.. too fragmented.

there's a skeleton of a prehistoric whale somewhere out there that's the work of a mad man, who joked about it being more glue than bone. once assembled they struggled to find a museum that wanted to clear the space to put it in. there's also no scientific value in it because of how fragmented the skeleton is, and because well.. the species are well documented.

in the end a lot of what they dig up is not interesting enough for the money it takes to pull it out the ground. if a project like this funnels some money towards the paleontologists (because y'know.. they still need to dig it up.) it might be of more value than putting it all in a drawer at a university.
and i'd guarantee you that if they dig up bones of any scientific or museum value, they will be worth WAY more in that avenue than as a raw resource for rings anyways, so those will never go towards stuff like this.

i would assume that "dinosaur" is slightly misleading though, because theoretically that name refers to a specific segment of prehistoric animals, but there's FAR more fossilized bone in the ground than just dinosaurs... most of which would be called "dinosaur bone" by anyone but paleontologists.

either way.. it's just a roundabout way of making an ivory ring, and i somehow feel more okay with that ivory coming from dig sites, than from poachers.
