I'll give you a hint and I have crunched numbers with gpu's comparing sli to single card and you won't like the results but anyway, i'll add the numbers here and the formula's that way you can just substitute in your own cost of electricity to work it out for yourself. All formula's will assume cpu's are cranking their 100% max load 24/7 with 0 downtime and 0 dips (completely unrealistic but I want to give you a fighting chance).

Alrighty so we are going to work on my cost of electricity of 29.403 cents/kWh.
 
Now we have the contenders lining up with their peak power draw.
 
- FX 8350 packing in at 210w
- FX 8320 packing in at what we will assume is the same as the 8350 because toms hardware doesn't have it listed.
- I5-4670k (now this chart from toms is old so I will take the 3570k (119w) and shave some off making it 100w)
 
Now we need to look at the initial cost of the chips, so we will use pcpartpicker (USA this also gives your argument the best chance because if I used AU pricings the jump from 8320 to 4670k is huge).
We aren't including microcentre prices because even in the USA not everyone is near one so the next cheapest price will be used.
 
- FX 8350 ($190)
- FX 8320 ($145)
- I5 - 4670k ($240)
 
Alrighty now that we have the boring part out of the way lets get to the numbers part.
 
Now the difference in power draw between the FX series and the i5 is 110w.
110w charged at a rate of $0.29403/kWh = $0.0323433/h
At that rate to close the $50 cost difference between the i5 and 8350 the systems would both have to be cranking balls to walls at 100% load for...

Now I am no expert but i'm fairly sure if you had a chip cranking 100% load for that length of time straight with 0 downtime you are going to have bigger issues than a slightly higher electricity bill.
 

Also Dravic, you are labelling many people AMD fanboys when most of these fanboys use Intel. Hell I'm using a mobile Intel Pentium at the moment. I love both sides and just choose what is better for MY needs.

Yes lets compare a $200 cpu with a $1000 cpu. That seems like a valid hypothesis for a test.

No it wouldn't for me because I wouldn't buy a locked processor, let alone one that was binned for stability even if it meant sacrificing clocks.

Mate go fanboy over swifty's rig seeing you believe xeon's to be the be all end all of gaming. You blatantly have no fucking clue what you are on about, your rig specs in your sig tell me you haven't played with modern hardware and tested for yourself, you also refuse to even conduct a proper discussion. Gaming is on average more gpu intensive than cpu intensive. The few games that are held back by the cpu are quite well known (if people mention those games as their top priority then that changes things) but perhaps the funniest part is your outlandish claims that intel is 50% stronger, World of Warcraft, probably the most cpu restricted game out there and an A8-6600k @ 4ghz only gets beaten by an i5-3570k @ 4.5ghz by 60%... Now just take a moment for that to click through the cogs before you throw a toms hardware benchmark of a flightpath back at me.
 
You can't rely on what is written only mate it is that simple, for example one of my cars has a listed top speed of 175km/h I can tell you for a fact without red lining 5th gear, stock standard it hits over 190km/h, however in your world that is impossible because the sheet of paper says so.

I'd either go for the headphones or the 8320. A 7970 isn't going to be a whole lot better than your 660ti, and I'm sure it would be bottlenecked by your athlon anyway and your psu is more than enough to handle all your stuff as it is.

I used a pair of Siberia v2's with integrated audio for a while (Realtek something on my notebook, and some VIA HD Audio on my desktop which was absolutely dreadful) and then I upgraded the desktop to a DX, audio got a lot clearer, a lot more dynamic sound as well, I could listen to anything and it'd sound better than the old integrated crap. Then, due to some strange microphone problems with the DX, I upgraded to the D2X, and things got even better. 
 
and then I upgraded to a pair of Sennheiser PC360s, and now the Siberias sound weird, lol

I played the so-called Glockenspiel (but we called it klokkespill, as I am norwegian) and I managed to play "Old Mcdonald had a farm", I was super proud, I was like.. 8 :D
