ALL OF MY WANT.
Fractal Design Unveiled some more beautiful stuff today at computex, saw Josh's tweet and had to post this:
We have the Node 202, the Core 500, and a revised Kelvin series of refillable AIO coolers.
New Product Frontpage here: http://gantrack8.com/t/v/1_NjU4NjIzNTYxMw==/
(More info there than in this post)
IMO, this is everything I wanted the Corsair Bulldog to be. No red accented bullshit, a nice sleek rectangle, nothing fancy.

Rekx reacted to EChondo in EVGA Announces Full Tower Case
I love how everyone in this thread can't seem to comprehend that this is just a demo unit. Mr. Freeman even states that the yellow isn't a final color.
Do you guys not remember when Linus was playing around with event cases and they were literally falling apart? Do you honestly think this is the final design?

Doubt he'd ever replace his CaseLabs case though.

Rekx reacted to Syntaxvgm in The hilariously bottlenecked system- a 970 with a 775 Pentium dual core [The system that can run crysis and NOT cs:go!]
Moving some of my older computer crap, and I had an idea-
Find the oldest thing I had with a pcie slot, and stick my 970 in it and try to game. For shits and giggles.
I have some REALLY old machines, but the oldest I had to fit this bill is a dell inspiron 530 with a 2GHz Pentium dual core. (E2180). 4GB of ddr2 memory, and when used had a BFG 9600gt in it.
I thought this would be a great combo because I used the 9600 in a phenom x4 system for a minute before I got my new gpu and I remember significantly better performance then, so even the 9600gt is bottlenecked by this cpu
Sorry ahead of time, my shitty moto x camera is all I have atm, and my office area is kinda dark as always (the moto x needs perfect lighting to take a fucking photo).
So, I pulled the gpu out. (Turns out the old PSU in it, while not a good one at all, is good enough for the 970)
(Yes that's 3 hair brushes I use all of them.....shut up)
The 970 carefully stuffed into the system
So here's where I ran into the first problem....
For some dumb fucking reason, there's a lip on the top of the PCI slots, meaning I couldn't plug in the cords all of the way. I was about to go get a dvi cord, but it turns out hdmi works half plugged in. There's only 1 PCIe slot, so I was kinda stuck with this. Good enough
Alright, time to install the drivers.....
the fuck?
Ok.....
Anyway, solved that problem by manually installing the drivers...
moving on
Let's try GTA5 first....
GTA5 and windows can't fit on the hard drive at the same time...
ok fine
moving on
you don't say?
just start!
Ok, this is a good start.....
...
.
Something isn't working right....been like 5 minutes.....
tried again...
still not working 10 minutes later
so I took a break and went to the gas station for a drink. Came back and sat down to watch it finish loading in front of my eyes
Minimum settings, 800x600
Not stable, between 15-40 fps. Jacking it up to 1440p and the nearly max settings I normally run it at, there was ZERO difference in the framerate.
Let's try something easier.... CSGO min settings, min resolution
I expected this game to run well, but again no difference between 1440p maxed and min settings. Interestingly, running bots DID NOT affect performance.
Well there you have it. Extreme bottlenecking
BUT WAIT! CAN IT RUN CRYSIS??
Let's try !
Kay...
Kay......
cmon I wanna try the fucking game !
Hey look V
^ This is nothing new
(For some reason I couln'd t select higher than 1600x900 and not my native 2560x1440, and was too lazy to change it manually.)
wait...wha't this?
Are you...plaything this on a 970 and a Pentium dual core?
So far, running pretty good on max settings 1600x 900
About average framerate, max settings, no AA I think
Medium settings (50-60 fps)
YES! IT CAN PLAY CRISIS, AND NOT CSGO!
it was a fun test.

Rekx reacted to Nishizumi in AMD is going to be in a tough spot at the high bc of the 980ti
I have my finger, toes, and ass crossed that AMD can beat the Titan X and 980 Ti while staying around $700.

Rekx reacted to theninja35 in AMD is going to be in a tough spot at the high bc of the 980ti
Waiting is your best bet right now.
-
Rekx reacted to Glenwing in GTX 980ti really that good value
No... the TITAN X is a $1000 GTX 980 Ti. The 980 Ti isn't a good value, it's that the TITAN X is way overpriced. But if the 980 Ti seems like a good value to you then I guess NVIDIA's marketing plan is working. Release something incredibly overpriced, then lower the price and it will look like a good value. That's basically what they've done, just a marketing 101 trick apparently still effective though...
-
Rekx reacted to TheSLSAMG in GTX 980ti really that good value
The 295x2 also consumes 500W+ and not all games properly support CFX or SLI. And considering how close it is to a 295x2 or dual GTX 970s, it's pretty impressive that a new single card can keep up with two of the lower tier. And AMD aren't in the best spot, they haven't been for a while. Their GPU game is strong, but the GPU side only won't keep them alive.
