T6kke got a reaction from TopHatProductions115 in Steam Games Running in 32 bit mode.
Most games are still made only in 32 bit. What OS you are running does not change how the program is made.

The C:\Program Files (x86) folder that simtransporter gave as an example is a folder where 32 bit applications are installed by default on 64 bit OS(I actually know why there are separate folders for 32 and 64 bit programs when you can install them in any folder you want).

But if you want to know if the game should run in 32 or 64 bit you have to browse the game files to see if it has a separate executable for them. Or google if the game has separate 64 bit executable.

Steam should also automatically start with a 64bit version if the game has one. But I also think that game developer can set the default launcher executable. So even if the game has 64 bit launcher it still might start with 32 bit one because it was set to launch wit it.

In conclusion, yes it's very normal for most games to run in 32bit since most games only have 32bit version. And I would not really worry about since the performance difference is almost nothing.

Overclocking will have very small impact on performance. So your best option without upgrading is to lower settings.

Check out LowSpecGamer on youtube. He creates videos on lowering graphics setting on games to get the best performance on low end PCs. He has lots of cool trick that you might want to check out.

He has two videos on GTA V. Second one is with performance mods.

T6kke got a reaction from PlayStation 2 in Why all the hate for Ubisoft?
The unfinished games and downgrade on Watch Dogs is just their recent problem. And only few of their games series suffered from those. They still make decently good games. Recent Rainbow Six is a good example.

But Uplay sucks. It sucked when it first was just DRM for AC2 not allowing you to play the game if you didn't have internet connection or even if it was unstable. And they still have those problems. When I bought Far Cry3 and Blood Dragon I could not play them for a week because Uplay was not properly working during that time. And when I played Driver San Francisco the game paused quite a lot to say that since it has problems with connection to uplay I could not upload videos from the game. I could not give a rats ass about it, don't interrupt my game.

And then there is their attitude toward PC gaming. They complain that all PC gamers are pirates and that's why they need the DRM. And after they make the DRM(that didn't work and legit customers could not play their game while pirates had no problems) they complain that PC gamers are even bigger pirates.
They also said that they don't optimize PC games since PC gamer will just go and buy a new graphics card when the game is not running that well.

Also lots of people don't like them for making games that are very much a like. All AC games since AC2 are very similar. A part from Black Flag and then they didn't continue that even though people really liked it. And FC4 is very similar to FC3 only in a different map. And even cross games they are very similar. Open world with lots of busy work with very little meaningful content in it.
But I think this is more of a problem that consumers created. Ubisoft will create the games that people will buy. If people stopped buying them they will make something different.

Seriously , Destiny and Warframe are sooo alike. Except Warframe is better, and it's a free to play game. Heck , with the new Second Dream update , even the story is better than Destiny's.

I would take a proper sequel in reimagined Vice City over just a remake of the same game but prettier. Some parts of the city were rushed and didn't feel like a proper city.

T6kke got a reaction from PlayStation 2 in good racing game
For Simulators I recommend Dirt Rally and Assetto Corsa. But you should have a decent racing wheel with force feedback to get all out of them.

For more arcadey racing check out GRID or GRID Autosports. They are kind of a mix between sim and arcade racing.

For full on arcade racing check out Driver San Francisco. It also has a pretty cool 70s style car cop show story with a cool twist that combines with game mechanic. And to date this game has given the best feeling of racing through heavy traffic. The same that you see in movies or game trailers but no other game really lives up to that. It doesn't look that good even for it's release date but it runs well and is lots of fun.

And some extra mentions. Track Mania Stadium is a really cool precision driving game that can very well be played on keyboard. And GTA V Online has lots of races. If you are OK with the dirty driving that goes on there.

Hold on now. Fallout 1 and 2 were not made on crappy 2D engine. They were well made and interesting CRPG-s of the time. And the engine in Fallout 3 was not new. It was the same that was used for Oblivion and Morrowind.

The stock cooler is meant to work with the CPU it came with(at stock configuration) without any problems. And since you have a decently cooled case it should be fine.

But we can't tell you the temps, only you can check them when you play the game. So much matters with that. Anything from ambient room temperature to cable management to fans to GPU cooler to whatever.

If you want to play the game now you can play the game now without worrying on frying your CPU.

I think you are looking into the wrong place. Sure Arkham Knight was horrible, but all the Arkham series games have had pretty serious problems on PC on release. And lots of CoD games in the series have had bad PC ports. Especially in recent years since MW2. I'll also add Mortal Kombat X to the list as well.

But PC has also gotten good ports like Metal Gear Solid V, Mad Max. The Witcher 3. Just to name few of the biggest multiplatform games from this year.

And PC has gotten lots of very well made games throughout the year.

I employee the strategy of playing and spending money on games that are well made and not bothering with the ones that aren't. I recommend it actually, I've had lots of good experiences with games throughout the year.

T6kke got a reaction from Bl00dgod in what is the most realistic scary game i can buy
The most realistic ? Get ARMA 3(or ARMA 2) and get into military multiplayer missions. War is the the scariest thing I can think of. And getting into ambush with your squad from unknown location can be really scary. And of course you have one life. Once you die you're dead until you organize a new mission with people.

It's kind of difficult to go over all that stuff. Literally the first 10 hours of the game and the first area served as a tutorial. By the end of it you should already be familiar with all the game mechanics.

But if you have problems fighting wraiths you have to use the Yrden sign to create the trap area where the wraiths can be damaged.

But I don't know what story path you took so you might be against some other challenge.

And since you don't seem to know the mechanics of the game and are already this late into the game you must have skipped a lot of content. You might just be under leveled for that part of the game. Do some side quests to level up and get some better gear and you'll have easier time there.

T6kke got a reaction from Ellis_D in Should I wait to get Fallout 4 or get Witcher 3?
If recent history has anything to show is that Bethesda will release a buggy(and it will stay buggy until modders fix it) shallow world. Skyrim was an ocean with the depth of a paddling pool. FO3 story was rather short and bad(the world was rather decent though but still ignored a lot of FO cannon). FO3 and Oblivion were rather badly balanced in gameplay and leveling.

While witcher 3 does have it's own balacing problems with its economy it has a fantastic story. Even better questing. Amazingly immersive world. And while it was buggy on launch(more on consoles then on PC) most of that is fixed.

If you want to play something now get Wither 3. And get FO4 on a later date. If FO4 turns out to be bad you can choose not to get it. And if it's good then it will be good 3 years after the release.

    adrenaline.

your body experiences the same "chemical" steps when playing an intensive game as when you are in a dangerous situation.
basicly, your heart rate goes up, pumping more oxygen to the important areas (brain, and muscles that finely control the fingers)
your body works harder, meaning it produces more heat, causing you to sweat.

or basicly what @ThomasD quoted from wikipedia

    Sympathetic nervous system activation.

"...the sympathetic nervous system can accelerate heart rate; widen bronchial passages; decrease motility (movement) of the large intestine; constrict blood vessels; increase peristalsis in the esophagus; cause pupillary dilation, piloerection (goose bumps) and perspiration (sweating); and raise blood pressure."

T6kke got a reaction from Lexias in First update to come to Tribes:Ascend in over 2 years
There were still basically light medium and heavy classes. There were just 3 of every one. There were just set to fixed roles based on what guns and equipment was given to them.

The difference of the 3 types is the HP amount and weight for flying and skying.

Old tribes games always had 3 different frames and you could customize the layout.

This is actually a pretty big change for them. Last time they reworked the class system was in Beta where they had like 20 different classes for all sorts of different roles. Then they changed it to 9 and allowed for different load outs for whatever style you like to play.

And it seems that they are going even further with it. Hopefully they will get the balance right with the fact that heavy classes can have 4 weapons. And hopefully they will get the new map right. They did port some of the old Tribes maps over but based on how different the physics work in TA they weren't all that good to play in.

It has started growing since the first announcement. As said they are up to 300 players at peak in steam players. And that is around EU prime time.

I for one started playing it again to get those numbers up. And I also haven't found another multiplayer game to get into after quitting TA 2 years ago.
I don't expect massive long time support. But hopefully they will make the game a bit better so it can sustain a bigger player base.

Performance optimization is one of the last things done in a game. So wait until it's released and then see if they've actually done it. They might do it after the release.

There might be some performance optimization down the line if they make some big changes in the code. And when they release DX12 version you might gain performance boost.

Just check the development plans, patch notes and what the community demands and you'll get an idea when the performance optimization comes.

If you only tired with some indies they might not install DX on it's own. Try some AAA game, they usually install DX when you start then for the first time.

So gratz. You have a virus.

Go on a different computer, reset your steam password and and then enable steam guard 2 step verification.

Also check your bank account if you have credit card info stored in steam. They might have bought a lot of stuff as well.
