Blood-Loop 900d+delid direct die+casemods+1560mm Rad Space Complete finally!

Okay so this has been a long time coming and it has been in the works for months I finally got everything and was ready to put it together as a bit of a grad present to myself. The components havent changed from my old build log here: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/228906-corsair-900d-1560mm-rad-space-vanilla-build/but I have added a pump, delidded and resized the tubes added most aesthetic things to make it personally mine, also changed the routing of the loop.

So the log itself:

 

The beginning: Modding the I-O to accomodate the top 480 in a reversed position I had to cut the back part off which was entirely plastic

I needed to take out the rivets from HALF of the cd drive cage because I wanted to preserve the structural integrity of the motherboard tray. The bottom I had already cut out to help fit the 360 in the front from my initial build.post-50257-0-32671400-1431046999_thumb.j

 

I also wanted a drain system for such a mammoth machine, so I thought what better way than to use the front fill port on my RX480 radiator in the basement and make a tiny pass through which I can just let air into the top of the loop next time I want to drain it.

Next I installed all the motherboard plates, midplates, rear panel plate and a custom plate I fabricated/plastidipped to cover the cd cage back half

I then needed to make a tube go from the front of the case to the back across the motherboard tray which was achieved with some elbow fittings I had and a hole I cut into the cd cage.

Next I installed the EK precisemount screws for direct die cooling and began the delid process(hammer/vice style)

I applied coollaboratory liquid pro to the die, and to be honest I could'nt be happier with the results, running 4 Degrees delta T opposed to before when I was running closer to 7-8 delta T.

 

I finished up the loop and it was ready to fill, for this I used ek ekooland blood red

I then had 2 separate leaks and had to drain the loop once.... fortunately NEITHER of which happened to be in the basement or I might have just collapsed and cried at this point, although what words were coming out of my mouth were not pretty either. Both leaks were coming from the EK reservoir closest to the mobo. My only word of advice is use the extensions that come included with EK X-Res and X-RES top acetal reservoirs. not only will it improve the life of the threads on the reservoir when you disassemble/reassemble but it will also make a much tighter seal and prevent leaks.

 

Once it is fully filled, with my pumps now hooked up to my fan controller for direct voltage control (kept at setting 2 once fully bled) here she is!

Shoot, I know man I have no idea how to rotate them... they are fine on my computer but when i upload them everything goes all wonky

The same thing happens to me sometimes. Maybe it's cause I post from OSX?

 

EDIT: Nice build btw. Why 2 reservoir?

Redundancy mainly, one pump stops working the other one will still be kicking, not to mention I wanted to achieve a decent flow rate, which looking now not that I have a flow meter the res' do not seem overly turbulent even with two pumps/res, also I wanted to fill up the space in the front half of the 900d and have  it look cool
