PSU's with 0db mode but not fanless

Jakoob

I'm planning this build http://pcpartpicker.com/p/ksG2NG and I like the fanless PSU but I don't think 520w is enough, especially if I overclock. I tried looking up more powerful PSU's that have a 0db fan mode when the load is low but I'm having a hard time with google search.

You guys have any suggestions?

People will disagree with me but I have an RM750 from corsair - that has a 0db fan mode. But, if you don't think that's reliable try the AXi series from corsair as well.

I personally have an AX760 it's fan curve doesn't activate until 70% load which I believe is one of the highest 0db modes I've seen, there are also a lot of others such as the Evga G2 750W.

Most PSUs made in the past year or two should have the whole 0dB fan thing going. As long as they are from a good company.

That sounds FANtastic lol. I think I'll go with the AX760 and the extra wattage might help if I ever wana SLI

just no. 520 is extremely pushing it and it might not be enough. you shouldnt run PSU's at 100% all the time

750 G2 /850 G2.

It doesn't matter how big of a load you put on it, the fan won't turn on until the unit hits 45c.

I have a 1000 P2 in my rig with the same feature, I have to put a 900W load on it for nearly an hour before the fan turns on.

Oh wow, that sounds better than the Corsair. Which would be better? 750 G2 or 760AXi

520w is more than enough, and that is a great unit.

Get that.

A 750W will support SLI though if the op wants to add a 2nd card in the future.

Always better to have the option. A 750W psu can be had for not much more than a 550W.
