Hey guys i was wodering if there imac for 1 game wich is minecraft and i want it to for recording and maybe edit them ! i went to best buy and they recommend a 

Apple iMac MF883LL/A 2.7 GHz

For 1,000 you can't get much. A laptop is more reasonable but you could get a used g4, or build a hackintosh.

Meh. I mean the 27" iMac with the GTX 780M and most expensive i7 would be ideal. Wonder if Apple will use the GTX 980M in one of their Macs this year.

Don't do it. If you want to spend $1000 on a gaming and editing PC, build yourself a proper computer, one that won't thermal throttle (cough cough)

We can help you with that, do you have any idea what you can build for $1000? That's a killer machine you've got there. Potentially.

RMA. every part's manufacturer has a customer service that is about a thousand times less cumbersome than apple. Send in your broken part and 99% of the time, they'll replace it. PC parts come with a pretty hefty warranty spanning several years, unlike Macs, which you have to pay for to get a proper warranty.

@Manuel99 OS selection I leave up to you. If you want OS X I would suspect you have access to a Mac or will buy an older but compatible Mac to get OS X.

Or Linux or Windows.

If you know basic troubleshooting pc problems and how to use a screwdriver build it yourself, people in this forum WILL help you choose the components. Building a pc is easy, the hard part is if something doesn't work and you have no idea what to do and panic, in which case going for a prebuilt pc or mac is the better option.

So: if you have ZERO pc knowledge go prebuilt, if not this is the right place to look for advice!

This will basically set you up for pretty much any gaming scenario at 1080 or 1440p and if you wanted to max Minecraft out at 4K, well, this would pretty much do that. I mean, I have a 7970 and at 1080p that's ramping maxed-out mincraft up to about 399 fps (is what fraps said), so you could downgrade to a 7970 and it would still be a kickass PC and well within your budget. And it'll overclock like mad, if you wanted it to. If not, you can grab a better video card and loosen up on the cooling, maybe get a cheaper, non-K i5 and an H97 board instead of a Z97
