I was gonna write almost the same thing you wrote in your posts. So I'm like, screw it! Just let you do it. xP

Editing is so wonderful on an apple. Gaming? Don't make me laugh, you could get a i5 4440 and gtx 970 or 280x and it'll smoke the iMac, and just buy another harddrive for hackintosh

The time you enjoy wasting, is not wasted time.

Time to share my wisdom! well, maybe not wisdom.

I have a imac, late 2012 model, that i had used to game and record minecraft before i got my current system, and i tell you, if i would of had the ~1200 i spent on it to build a hackintosh, It would have been much MUCH MUCH worth it, I would recommend, obviously, building a hackintosh

Yes, building a Hackintosh would be better. But you might have to face some issues like errors, you should do research before doing Hackintosh.

Any monitor that is 60Hz should be good for gaming, but you'd be better off getting one with an IPS panel if you want good colour reproduction.

that last one, you'll have to save up some pennies for, but it's just an idea. sometimes you're better off spending a bit more for a slightly better product.

you can go with a TN panel, but that's only if you're not fussy about colour reproduction like me.
