 I think the biggest let down of this is the screen, and possibly camera. both of which still seem to be good for the price, but we shall wait and see.

After the asus zenfone 2 was announced, budget smartphones have been in peoples scope. The Lenovo A7000 (i think a7k sounds cooler) aims to de-throne the Moto g from Motorola as best budget phone.

 

I have a Moto G second gen and I was pretty sure the Asus Zenfone 2 already dethroned it when it was announce 9 days after I bought my Moto G lol.

just watched the video and can confirm DAM THAT SOFTWARE BE UGLY. if i get this phone (depending on pricing vs the zenfone 2 vs this) the software will be the first to be changed, root and custom rom.

5.5 screen kills it, otherwise it seems great expect for the skin, IMO that's the best feature of the G, vanilla android is too good, also that comparison to the iphone cpu is retarded, there just 2 and not clocked very high, but there fucking fast ffs, every time a new iphone release it rekts everything out there on release

Haha the write up has some hilarious comments on it. Most phones do not get only 12 hours of talk time. Most get considerably more.

The person also clearly has no idea how OS optimization or different CPU architecture can affect performance...

 

It's a decent looking phone for the price. A bit too plain in my books, I think the Moto G is still miles ahead with it's front facing stereo speakers and much sexier design.

Having the swappable backs (I'm assuming it has them still) is also an added plus for the Moto G.

Zenphone 2 will likely be around $300, unless you can stomach the 720p model, in which case it'll be $199. I believe the 720p model is a 5" device though.

i didn't compare it to an iphone i was rambling at the source author calling the iphone soc low end which is a straight up lie when you look at benchmarks

Ugh, why does the screen have to be so big? Maybe on a flagship device, but when resolution is limited on a budget device, don't bother with screen real estate.

I'll be upgrading to the ASUS Zenfone 2 when I'm able to, I'm really not a huge fan of flagship phones anymore.  Though... the HTC One M9 does look tempting.
