Best time to place a bid at an auction?

Canada EH

When it comes to auctions, when is the best time to raise your hand/auc# to place a bid?

Do you stay out and wait until the auctioneer is asking for any other bids before the lot of computers is sold?

Do you get in right away and show that you mean business?

Do you wait half way through then raise your auction paddle?

Do you do a combination where you jump in and out?

Next question is

Do you wave and let everyone know you are bidding?

Do you wink at the floorman auctioneer helper?

Do you nod?

Do you stand around the lot of computers so everyone can see you or do you lay back?

ebay etc last few seconds

real life auctioneers have attitudes and may get angry/annoyed if you only bid at the end

If you're interested in a product please download and read the manual first.

Don't forget to tag or quote in your reply if you want me to know you've answered or have another question.

Auctioneers get angry, I have never seen that, I've been to many auctions, going to an industrial one this week, office computers to paper to big cats.

You are right, because the auctioneering company gets the buyers fee, and its the floormans job to hype up the crowd, they know how to work the crowd from bidding increments to the stopping of fast talk to a regular talk description.

i've never been to an irl auction, but online i just bid whenever.

i've had a few times where i just outbid the previous person and then the seller messaged me saying that amount of money was ok.
