how much room do you have, and how far away are you sitting?

this is more an "interior design" question, than it is a "tech" question. one's 10 inches bigger than the other, thats about it.

The benefit is visual detail.  4k TVs have smaller pixels, which means you need to sit closer to take advantage of the increased resolution.  If you're sitting too far away, the extra resolution is basically "wasted".  (You can google optical resolving power and TV viewing distances to learn more.)

Bottom line: TV size and viewing distance are related. This is from Crutchfield, but generally aligns with most recommendations:

So, if price is no object, then buy a TV based upon existing view distance.

If price does matter, then buy a TV you can afford and move your couch appropriately.

Well it depends on how far you are from it really. If you're at a point where a 55inch would just feel like "something is missing..." than the 65" would be better.

If the distance is to where a 65" would feel like "man my eyes just can't watch this comfortably.." than get the 55"

How far a way do you sit from your current TV? I sit about 3m away from mine and having upgraded from a 55" LCD to a 65" OLED I have zero regrets.

i don't have TV, i haven't watched tv for 7 years, though i have 4k 27inch monitor and 1080 TI, i want TV for purely movie watching and console gaming in the future, if now i put TV on my wall it would be around 2.5 meters from my couch but i am not sure with size

I'd still go for a 65" if it's 2.5m away.

I have 4k 49'inch and sit 2.5 - 3m away from it and I regret I chose 4k 49 instead of 55 1080p.
