First build! I'm really proud of it

Looks like a nice build!
I too love buying used parts and seeing what the best build I can do for the least amount of money is.

My most recent one only cost me about $300, and was worth almost 10x that. Gotta love those bargains!

 

Yours is definitely a little nicer though; I only have a GTX 980.

Agreed, my friend has the R1 Ultimate and not only is it super quiet, it's very good at cooling.

Yeah, the R1 is hands down the best cooler I've owned. I put 2x ML120 Blue LED fan's on it to match my build but it's by the far best cooler I've used when it comes to thermal performance.  Not to mention incredibly easy to install for a big air cooler. Noctua has their mounting design perfected. I once owned a Be Quiet Dark Rock Pro 3 and that thing was probably one of the worst PC building experience I have ever had.

Haha, if you want a really frustrating experience, try installing the CryOrig H7 (or perhaps other coolers) on something AMD based.

Really? I have the Cryorig R1 on my AMD system and had no issues. Other than needing to order a new mounting bracket for my X470 motherboard. I have the H5 and C7 on Intel systems and they were also easy to install. I think they're the easiest designed air coolers on the market by a long shot.

Not the H7. It's so bad that they released a redesigned clamp mechanism this year.

You had to line up the holes of the XBrace, but the bars move. You're supposed to screw them down once they're in place, but it's a fucking stupid design. Worst I've ever seen.

Oh wow, I'm genuinely surprised to hear that. The R1, H5, and C7 all have holes through the heat spreaders and come with a tool to tighten the mounting screws. It's super easy and works great. Suprised to hear that they messed up so badly on the H7.

Haha yeah RAM is tricky. I got a killer deal on a motherboard/RAM/SSD/CPU combo to get mine.

nice. I would really love to improve airflow in my case but I need to figure out how to do that. I've thought about modding the front panel to add a lot more vents, or maybe just replacing my crappy generic 120mm fans with some nicer 140mm ones.... not sure yet.
