Which CPU Cooler to get for i7 7700

voiha

So basically I'm still rocking with my stock cooler provided from Intel, which is loud and inconsistent. Temps are not great too, they to go as high as 80-85C while gaming.

I was looking at Gammaxx 400 as it's cheap and has good reviews but I saw that it is produced since 2012 or so which got me a step back. I looked at the CPU Cooler Tier list but from Tier 1 to tier 4  every cooler that I looked up was expensive and really high-end (For OC) which I won't do as it's a non K version.

So my question is which CPU Cooler is proficient for my CPU and in the price range of 40-60$ ?

You won't be overclocking, and it's just a quad core. The H7, H5, Mugen 5 and Dark Rock 3 should cost about that.

^^^ The H5 is great, there's one on an 8700K rig I'm flipping and it keeps it below 70C while gaming, and it only hit 81C after a bunch of benchmarking in different games and then a 1 hour full system stress test with AIDA64.

You're talking about the  Cryorig h5 ? Because I saw several H5 CPU coolers

Gammaxx 400 is fine. Old doesnt mean much in cooler design when it comes to performance, we havent got breakthroughs in designing small 120mm tower coolers. The only problem of this thing is the plastic mounting mechanism, which is rather fragile.

Cryorig H7 is my usual choice if clean looks are important, Scythe Mugen 5 if performance is all that matters, Cooler Master MA410p for cheap-ish fancy RGB

H7 will even suffice for a mild overclock.  I've been running my 7600k at 4.5ghz on one for about 4 months now but I wanna' step up to something a bit bigger.

Yep, the Cryorig H5, H5 Universal to be specific. The fan on the Universal can start making rubbing sounds after a few months but the cooler itself is solid.

As you're living in EU country I don't think you'll want to buy from out side it.

Cryorig H7 should be available for very good price.

And its design avoids any DIMM/PCI-e slot clearance issues.

Mugen 5 which can be had for below 50€ is likely strongest cooler without potential size issues, while challenging many bigger and more expensive coolers.

Because of slim fans having super low pressure per RPM H5 Universal's cooling performance per noise is actually rather bad for its size and well behind Mugen 5's:

80-85c isn't low but it's not high enough to worry about either. If temps don't get any higher and you think it's too noisy, there's no need to replace the cooler.

For the 7700, anything Tier 8 and up is already plenty of cooling.
