Hard drive spiking with 100% usage every few seconds

This happens when I'm playing fortnite. I have no idea why this is happening. Any advice? It's causing my computer to freeze when playing.

i find the windows drive usage indicator to be really unreliable. it says my samsung 850 pro ssd is at 100% usage at 39 MB/s

that can be one of a few things.

 

The speeds and usage are a average no current works.

Also with random low quedepth workloads those drives can max out at like 10mB/s. The max speed really depends on the workload
