I think the best part of this is the terrible undertone that exists that any Titan card made after this release could, if the 2080 and 2080 Ti  are released for leaked price, be leaked for anything between 1500 and 2k USD.

Man I didn't even think about the next titan. The power of that thing would be so insane though, it'll probably earn that price tag

Doubt it look at the leaked specs we got, and this is for cards that supposedly are priced at 800 for the 2080 to 1000 for the 2080 Ti.

to be quite frank, a lot of people still have 7 or 9 series cards. so the wait was well worth it. 1080 ti owners will have to wait and see how the performance stacks up to determine whether an upgrade is worth it or not. as for anyone on a previous gen card, they can now purchase the cheap 10 series cards that are flooding the market.

True, but I still wonder what nvidia is going to say in 12 hours on their wonderful gamescom livestream. I expect a lot of drinks to be had.

Nvidia brings new gpus.

Then AMD will... as per usual.

Prices will drop as per usual.

Plus plenty of used GPUs HAVE warranty still.

They are the only used ones worth purchasing IMO.

Only due to how crypto was easily accessible to all... Even hobbyist crypto was huge

But with a warranty...over a year or more to go,.. Still happy to purchase.

Esp for eG a GTX1070 for casual gaming going forward into 2019+ with a 1080p driven GTX1070/1080 or a used 1080Ti for 1440p+

Right price, right warranty, a right purchase.

Many people on the fence can still spend their money wisely.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

This is something I've never understood about the PC community (or perhaps more to point, this forum). Why are you surprised that the flagship cards cost a lot of money? They should cost a lot of money; they're the best of the best. Even at a few thousand dollars, PC gaming is a pretty low cost hobby to get into for the amount of entertainment you get out of it. There's still much lower priced parts that still get great performance. You shouldn't expect the best experience to be super cheap.

Take mountain biking for example. I ride my bikes much less than I use my computer (winter, and all). I pay several hundreds of dollars a year in maintenance. A frame is easily a couple thousand dollars, because I like higher tier stuff. In comparison, PC gaming is a bargain, especially for the amount you get out of it.

But again, considering that nvidia overstocked those cards, why would there even be a 1080/1080ti sale when the cards are already $200-$300 cheaper than their respective 20xx counterparts (assuming this leak is correct) with no serious competition?

And that's exactly my point, people that have waited for the past year have just wasted their time since the new cards are so much more expensive that they'll likely end up with a 10xx card anyways unless they can shell out that extra few hundred dollars.

It's still worth it, since they'll be paying the same price but getting much better performance.

To be fair, the performance these new cards will offer is not a given save more the memory, sure more cuda cores, but it's not quite as simple as more is better. But yes, it's a new flagship card so it will be expensive. What I'm keen to see is thusly, what kind of performance will we see. Sadly that can't be made clear until they're released so we must still wait.

I'm not surprised that it's expensive, I'm saying that it's considerably more expensive than the current flagships, so people aren't paying the same price for much better performance which is why most people were in this holding pattern over the past year.

GTX 1080 ---> RTX 2080 and GTX 1080TI ---> RTX 2080TI is $200-$300 more so waiting didn't serve that purpose of "more performance, same price".

You don't know the performance, so I'm not sure what you're basing that claim on. The higher price of memory (remember, GDDR6 was said to be 30% more expensive than GDDR5x) plays a huge role in the price increase.

Yup, I agree, I think we should wait and see how the new "high end" benchmarks against the old rulers, the 1080Ti and 1080 before we jump to conclusions. We should also wait for the 2060 to be launched if it will be so we can see if like previous generations it'll match the 1070 or be just shy of it like previous generations.

Out of curiosity, has anyone actually verified the page was even a thing and this isn't just a terrible Photoshopped job? It seems really easy to fake a screenshot if the page is minimal like that.

Then again, if the URL brings us to a 404, someone could just hide behind the excuse of "they took it down really quick." Okay.

Well I get that there's a press conference and stuff already.

I'm just questioning why nobody's really bothered to verify anything or question the authenticity of the screenshots because you know, those are really easy to fake especially when it's a low resolution image and the website appears to use such minimal styling that a monkey with MS Paint could make the sreenshot. But hey, if people want to react on first gut emotions, that's fine too.

I'm in agreement, especially given the source being videocardz.com . Seems a bit sketch to me. But I'm going to start going off of info from the source, ie the current press conference, and on top of that, I'm still going to wait for all the actual reviews to land on youtube and on more testing oriented sites.
