Yes. I'd totally buy a Xiaomi phone. The only thing with these Chinese brands is if you have an issue, good luck getting customer support.

I have a Xiaomi Mi5s Plus for almost 2 years and I'm very happy with it.

But remember buying the GLOBAL version of Xiaomi phones. Otherwise they won't have other languages than mandarin!

I got that phone. Really good budget phone, the camera is amazing.

Makes me feel like wasting too much money on my past samsungs.

The support in my country is good, no reason not to buy.

Xiaomi made great quality phones, the build quality on par with 6-7th gen iphones.

All aluminium bodies for their budget phones, snapdragon processors, sony / samsung sensors for the camera.

That's why Xiaomi is the number 1 smartphone tech company in china. And the US market is a joke against the asian markets.

Make sure that it supports the bands of the carrier you want to use it with. Also, it might not come with Google Play; something you should make sure you check before purchase.

Uhhh your second comment makes no sense. The US market isn't a joke compared to the Asian markets because Xiamoi doesn't operate there :P

One of the main reasons they don't offer devices there is the added band support costs. Not to mention the name is hard to pronounce and they'll lose business because of it.

when i have an issue, i get a new phone so i look for the longevity of the device rather than stupid customer support that likely won't help you anyway.

But in terms of longevity, I haven't had an issue so far except for a slight bend from dropping the device.

I would recommend looking at the Mi A2 that will launch in a few days at max. It has stock Android and better specs. The Note 5 Pro is also good.

The price/performance ratio of Xiaomi mobile phone is still relatively high.

There is an interesting Reason for that :)

Xiaomi CEO said once, they want to have a net profit of 5%. That's "enough" for them as a company: https://www.businesstoday.in/technology/news/xiaomi-limits-profit-margin-at-5/story/275635.html

They do alot of Profit with accessoires. If they really keep their word,  Xiaomi will Continue to deliver one of the best "value" / "Bang for buck" etc out of every single manufacturer.

Just for a comparison, an iPhone X costs 389 us dollar to be produced.

Galaxy S9+ is at 379 us dollar.

I think some estimates say the iPhone X costs only around 330$ actually lesser than the S9+ despite higher retail price.
