seagate barracuda 1tb

 

asus prime z370-a

 

corsair vengeance lpx 8gb ×2

 

anyone now how many watts all need

I tend to go overkill, but I like to have that buffer, so probably 650w plus, but go for anything that's GOLD plus certified and fully modular. Something EVGA...

Yes, use that, then if you half the number it gives you it would be closer.

 

 

OP: A good 550W unit will be fine.

EVGA makes plenty of shit fully modular gold certified units.

you will need a 1070 watt psu because the gpu number indicates the amount of wattage your computer needs.

A 650w or so is good, if a 750w or more cost the same as a 650w, get that, won't hurt to have some extra wattage for future upgrades.

I have a very similar system with multiple drives, lots of things hooked up via usb, and both the CPU and GPU are overclocked all on a corsair CX500 (500watt). More than enough for a single GPU build, just make sure the PSU you get is at least 80+ certified.

I can really recommend the Corsair RM550X for that build. i used to run my titan and a i7 4960X off of one of those and it always held the system stable, even under some heavy overclocks!

also, it's cheap and modular.

it's been running in my last 2 systems for almost 5 years now with no issues, I'd say that's fairly good quality, it is bronze certified.

It's a old group regulated design with shitty capacitors and questionable rated temperature.

 

The new CX however, is really nice.

I mean, It still works and have had 0 issues, regardless if it was a shitty design. 

 

And if he is buying a new PSU, the new CX500 would be what he would be getting (I would assume he is not buying used)

That system will use, without OC, around 175-200W. With OC, maybe 250W.

 

A Corsair TX550M would be a great buy.

That's not a measure of quality.

 

People buy Chrysler cars and have them for five years with no issues. Does that mean anything? Not really. Chrysler still makes crap cars. The CX500 is an old group-regulated unit with a very low temperature tolerance that should be used for older or for low-end PCs.

...All I was saying was regardless of how its made or its quality, Which up until LateTips told me it was made with poor quality parts that I did not know about, it still has lasted me and was good for me. And if the OP was to buy a new CX series PSU it would be the new model which again LateTips has told is much better. I'm not defending whether or not my 5-6 yr old PSU is quality, I don't care, It just has worked for me in my experience so I would recommend a brand new CX line PSU. I only mentioned quality as LateTips was asking if i opened it to inspect the design (which I think he misread my comments). If something relatively cheap with not great parts lasts me several years without any issues, I would call that a quality item in my experience. (does this apply to every item out there, no, but in this case it did for me)

 

And you kinda are making my point, if a 'crap' product is made cheaply and with not quality parts, but does everything it is supposed to and lasts a long time without any issues, why wouldn't someone call that quality?

Because it heavily restricts overclocking and lifespan with it's shit ripple... and can easily go out of spec due to it's group regulated design

I dunno man, All I know is it has spanned 2 builds, both with an OC on the CPU and GPU non-stop for the last 5 years and it is still working with out issue.
