Is this monitor good? And tell opinions on my build

Premoz1

So is Samsung C24FG70 good monitor? Could you tell me advantages/disadvantages on that monitor? I am going to get new pc build, and this is my build:

Amd ryzen 5 1600

MSI - B350 PC MATE ATX AM4 Motherboard

GeForce GTX 1060 Dual OC 6GB

Team - Vulcan 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2400 Memory

Mushkin - Source 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive

Toshiba 1TB DT01ACA, 3.5" HDD, SATA III, 7200rpm, 32MB

Kolink Refractor RGB Window Side Panel

Seasonic 550W FOCUS+ 550 Gold, modular ATX-Power Supply, 80Plus Gold (I may change this one later)

So, tell me more about that monitor. And share opinions on this pc build. Its my first one I made. So I chose the RAM, SSD and HDD to be cheapest, was that worth it?

Good build. Only one thing. The ram is quite well not for ryzen, if you can get a 2666 and oc it to somewhere around 28XX then that would be good, but thats if your on a budget, if not you can get 3000 ram sticks

A bit skeptical on how stable the monitor is going to be. Just looking at the stand, it's going to be quite wobbly.

The monitor is good, the colours seem good, its 144hz which isnt really necessary for a gtx 1060, but for its specs its quite nice. Also it doesnt have g sync but that doesnt really matter because your not going full out on the pc. Id say decent. My reccomendation is if your going with that monitor get an rx480/580 8GB its cheaper with the same performance, and you can take advantage of that sweet sweet free sync.

Ok, any other opinions? A lot of people say that 144hz is overkill for 1060 6gb, but  a lot people argue about that.

for ryzen it does.

Hes using a ryzen 5 1600X which is basically the same chip but factory overclocked.

Well, do I need to change anything else than ram? And how about the monitor?

The monitor is decent. I recommend changing the ram and the graphics card to an AMD Radeon RX580 8gb which has the same performance for a cheaper price, and is compatable with your monitors free sync. If you dont know what free sync is, linus explains it perfectly.

yup if you want curved i reccomend the MSI - Optix MAG24C

If you want graphics for the same price i reccomend the Acer - XG270HU

And i would get an ultra wide 2560 x 1080 monitor which is cheap, really good looking and ips. This is my reccomendation, its as wide as englands plane thats going home, its as pretty as Emma Watson, its the LG - 29UM68-P

Also 144hz is overkill for the gtx 1060 and rx580.

I thought the same as BlueChinchillaEatingDorito about the base, you better not rage at games and hit the desk hard because the monitor might fall lol

I'd go for just 60Hz and a 1070 instead just to ensure games run at a higher detail level without sacrificing FPS, personally I can't see any difference over 85Hz, some people say there is a huge difference between 85 and 144+ but I just think it's cheap marketing to sell expensive screens heh

ASUS X470-PRO • R7 1700 4GHz • Corsair H110i GT P/P • 2x MSI RX 480 8G • Corsair DP 2x8 @3466 • EVGA 750 G2 • Corsair 730T • Crucial MX500 250GB • WD 4TB

That terminology doesn't make sense. It's not overkill for anything. It would be too taxing for the card, but even that isn't necessarily true, as some titles will run quite fast on that card. Not only that, but you only really have to aim for around 90fps, which isn't that hard to do if you're willing to come down from Ultra, which frankly is unnecessary. Since the monitor uses FreeSync, and you're looking at the mid range, I'd strongly consider an RX580 to get the most out of the monitor.

No. No it's not. That makes no sense.

@dizmo Unless hes planning to play almost every game at low, then it really is. Giving away extra money for something that will run on 80-90 fps on some games is just not really worth it in my eyes.

I run a 4Gb evga 1050ti and that runs most titles I come across at 1080 60Hz 24" with the self overclock doing its thing. it also has a lot of power adding a lot to the video qualities in general and even with protest it will do 4k gaming in some titles but its not happy. I wish i could have used a 1060 or 1070ti but im in a dell 7040 and 75 watts limit look at what things you will do with it most before making choices I like content like tech tips so I went 4k septre 27"  for my new monitor and attempt to pown newbs on my overdriven hp2311x monitor.

Or any number of ESPorts titles, which are all incredibly easy to run.

Most people notice much more of a difference from 60 to 90, than 100 to 144. So. Yeah. It does make sense.

It's not hard to hit 90fps on most titles if you drop to High instead of Ultra.
