Is my cable management good?

Smiles4Miles

This is my very first custom PC. My second PC overall. I have an i3 8100, no graphics card (Didn't have the money) and 16 gb ddr4 3200. I wasn't sure if I would do well at cable management, so I decided against a windowed case.

It looks fairly good.

I haven't heard good things about that PSU though...

What bad things have you heard? I thought since it's corsair, it would be a reliable psu

Not all Corsair PSUs are reliable.

I would personally have gotten a CX550M.

It's not a reliable unit. It's a Tier 5 on our PSU Tier List, usually people don't recommend going below a Tier 3: https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/631048-psu-tier-list-updated/

When PSUs die, they're known to take other components, sometimes entire systems with them.

VS is a much older lineup. The voltage regulation is not so good, and the components being used, namely the capacitors, are quite low end.

Even something like a CXM would be much better and shouldn't cost too much more.

When do tier 5s usually die?

You can probably return it. CX550Ms can usually be had for about 50 USD.

There's no set date for when a PSU goes, I've had two units go literally overnight, one in the span of a couple minutes.

Just sayin' but you probably shouldn't have bought 16gb ram then. 8gb probably would've sufficed and you could've bought a better psu+ssd with that money. You also probably could've gotten a cheaper H310/B360 mobo over an H370 one.

VS isn't bad enough that you need to get it out immediately, but once you get some cash I'd recommend you return it and get something better.

Ok. I might. Just wondering, where is the best place to get a cheap graphics card that's good. Like 50 cad.

Craigslist. Poke around on there, see what comes up. You should be able to get a 750Ti for that much.

That's a Tier 3. Usually the lowest users here recommend.

nono not 600. All the CX/CXM units that end with a 00 are older ones that aren't as good. You want the newer ones with grey sticker that end in a 50 (e.g. CX450m, CX550m)

Looks to be a legitimate 750Ti.

Definitely see if you can talk the seller down though, 80 is a bit expensive for a 750Ti.

Ok. Say forty then hopes he says yes? If he said 60 I'll say 50 or nothing then.
