We don't know until they launch and have proper tests done on them.

Well 1180ti is probably as fast as a titan V, so look up titan v 4k benchmarks.

Short answer: nobody knows!

Seriously, NOBODY knows.

Some people at Intel might have a vague expectation of what their future high-end cpu's can do and some people at Nvidia might have a vague idea of what their next high-end graphics might do.

Thing is, nobody knows what that combination might do.

We can speculate and guess but that's not going to give you answers. I mean even if we do know, what's the point if it's still a year away?

It'll probably be a pretty decent card for 4k, but I highly doubt it'll be a "no compromise" card. 100 FPS in FarCry 5 at 4k seems optimistic, especially if you stop to consider consider that is SLI 1080Ti territory.

No idea but the 1180ti won't come out for at least another year. Anyways we have literally no idea. It could be a relatively small improvement, or it could be doubt. We have no way of knowing or even guessing really in terms of the 9700k and 1180ti, both of which are multiple launches away. If I had to guess, 8 core coffee lake and 1180 will be about 20% faster in games than a 1080ti 8700k system. Beyond that, I can't even begin to guess.

  • The 1180 could be a massive 40% increase over the 1080ti
  • Or alternatively the 1180 could be only like 20% faster than the 1080ti.
  • The 1180ti could be a massive 40% leap over the 1180 like the 1080ti was over the 1080
  • Or alternatively the 1180ti could be a more modest 20% increase over the 1180 like the 780ti was over the 780.

When we're looking at launches more than one generation ahead, it's really hard to guess.

  • If we assume best case scenario for both the 1180 and 1180 ti then the 1180ti would be twice as fast as the 1080ti.
  • If we assume the worst case for both the 1180 and 1180ti then the 1180ti would only be about 50% faster than the 1080ti.
  • We could also split the difference and it could be 75% faster than the 1080ti.

The point is that beyond one generation, the differences in each card multiply so what is a 20% difference between each card makes a 50% difference overall. So yeah. We don't actually know.

No, no, no. Nvidia will take a new approach with the 1180 where they'll implement time dilation so it will run everything a 1 FPS, but it will speed up your time by 6000% so it looks like you're playing at 60 FPS.

You will age a lot quicker though.
