I would advise you start small until you have enough money to actually get a computer shop started. Maybe do small repairs, or consulting. Then, start studying on how to start your own business and what kind of funds it takes, etc.

Don't unless there is literally 0 competition in the entire city/town and you can do other things to supplement your income inside said shop like phone repair and tech support to businesses., and you can burn through a few years of cash before you'd become profitable.

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

The issue is your customer base is mainly gamers as companies buy bulk from companies like Staples that offer rewards and discounts for business. And think from the gamers perspective, we just buy on Amazon, and thats where most the tech you tubes point us anywhere with their affiliate programs. Its really no feesable unless you could somehow compete with Amazon's free shipping, prices, and partnership program.

Yeah don’t. You will be outcompeted by corporation like Best Buy easily. Small businesses can only survive in a niche

first you have to drop like 200k on construction materials, then youtube how to lay brick, wires, pipe, etc. then give up and rent a place building someone already build. then give up again when 3 people a month buys something.

Start repair/service shop first, if you reallly want to go for it. Gain customer base and start offering upgrades. There are really few stores that can support themselves just with parts. In this country there are maybe 3 big ones, snd some smaller local ones mainly doing business builds, repairs and other services with part sales added on top. And their pricing is noticeably higher than competition as they can't hold large warehouses to get parts in bulk.

I have to agree with LoGiCalDrm. Computer sales is a savage business, and bestbuy (or any other big box electronics store) can gut you like a fish. Start small, start with repairs.

I freelance occasionally by word of mouth. I can beat a prebuilt price by a couple hundred bucks usually even after I factor in my labour. I charge 65 CAD an hour. Do yourself a favour and work out of your home on evenings and weekends. If the demand on your time exceeds your off hours ability, then scale back your day job. Hopefully it takes off, if not it cost you nothing and you at least have beer money in your pocket.

My advice is only do it on the side for extra money. Use Facebook to get your name out there. But I wouldn't rent a building or anything. You can probably make a little doing repair and troubleshooting, as long as your fair with your pricing. I wouldn't get in to the "Retail" side of the business. Definitely no money there.

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.

There was very little money in this in the late 90s and definitely none now (the retail side at least)
