What would be the best settings to overclock my I5-5200U

Hello, for a while now I've been using a Lenovo ideapad 100, and I want to know what the best settings would be to overclock it, to get the best possible performance, I don't care if It will ruin it's Life, and if you know the Lenovo Ideapad 100 is not the best computer, its a very slow computer, and I want to juice it the max. I will be using this for recording and gaming.

it's not meant for gaming or recording, doing both is asking way too much from it.

You can undervolt the CPU to let it run cooler and probably more quietly, but it's not going to be faster.

GeForce NOW is still something in Beta.

I heard Microsoft was also looking into this for 2018/2019.

For the time being, this is what you can do to give the IdeaPad a bit of a boost (will cost some $$ though):

  • Swap the 5400 RPM HDD to an SSD  **this will make a pretty big difference in computer / program / app response**
  • Add another 4GB of DDR3L for a total of 8GB

Intel Z390 Rig ( *NEW* Primary )

Intel X99 Rig (Officially Decommissioned, Dead CPU returned to Intel)

  • i7-8086K @ 5.1 GHz
  • Gigabyte Z390 Aorus Master
  • Sapphire NITRO+ RX 6800 XT S.E + EKwb Quantum Vector Full Cover Waterblock
  • 32GB G.Skill TridentZ DDR4-3000 CL14 @ DDR-3400 custom CL15 timings

  • Lian-Li O11 Dynamic EVO XL
  • Ekwb Custom loop + 2x EKwb Quantum Surface P360M Radiators

  • Gigabyte B550 Aorus Pro AC
  • 32GB (16GB X 2) Crucial Ballistix RGB DDR4-3600
  • Gigabyte Vision RTX 3060 Ti OC
  • EKwb D-RGB 360mm AIO
  • Intel 660p NVMe 1TB + Crucial MX500 1TB + WD Black 1TB HDD
  • EVGA P2 850W + White CableMod cables

The 5200U is pretty decent. You probably have a mechanical hard drive which is slowing you down. Get an SSD.

|PSU Tier List /80 Plus Efficiency| PSU stuff if you need it.

Here is a list of my full hardware:

  • Cpu: I5-5200U
  • Ram: Samsung 8gb (single|DDR3)
  • Storage: ST1000LM024 HN-M101MBB
  • Motherboard: Lenovo Nano 5B6

So, out of all of these what do you think the problem would be?

In what way is its performance bad?

It will never game well.  SSD will make using the laptop for general purpose things faster.  General purpose being things like Office, Chrome, and boot/sleep times.  Memory will help in the same places the SSD helps.

I have an older i5-4030u laptop that is plenty fast for Office/Web stuff, it can even play some games.  Mostly older titles and things like DoTA and World of Tanks, but it requires all detail settings be set to minimum for ~40FPS at 1366x768 resolution.  Using 1920x1080 is completely out of the question.
