Advertise Floatplane to Gun related Youtube Channels before their Banned

Maybe its time to expand prospective floatplane channels quickly.  This is pretty big, most of the channels I watch relating to guns violate this policy.

Policies on content featuring firearms

YouTube prohibits certain kinds of content featuring firearms. Specifically, we don’t allow content that:

  • Intends to sell firearms or certain firearms accessories through direct sales (e.g., private sales by individuals) or links to sites that sell these items. These accessories include but may not be limited to accessories that enable a firearm to simulate automatic fire or convert a firearm to automatic fire (e.g., bump stocks, gatling triggers, drop-in auto sears, conversion kits), and high capacity magazines (i.e., magazines or belts carrying more than 30 rounds).
  • Provides instructions on manufacturing a firearm, ammunition, high capacity magazine, homemade silencers/suppressors, or certain firearms accessories such as those listed above. This also includes instructions on how to convert a firearm to automatic or simulated automatic firing capabilities.
  • Shows users how to install the above-mentioned accessories or modifications.

Floatplane, a Canadian owned and operated company, do come host firearms content, much of which would include weapons systems or modifications that could violate Canadian firearms laws?  I can't imagine ANY potential legal problems with this, none at all.

In Canada, can a platform for speech available to all be held liable for the speech that takes place on it?

@straight_stewie Yes, this is one of the reasons why the forum is Moderated the way it is.

With enough time and money, any platform can be held liable for actions that don't even take place on the platform.

Nah we just like being dicks /s

But yeah legal restrictions play a big part of what we can and can't do, same would apply for content hosted on floatplane.

In Canada it is part of the criminal code (bill C16) that you must use the appropriate gender pronoun or you can face criminal sentencing.  E.I If the court decides you misused a gender pronoun out of hate.

So, yes, they probably will hold LMG responsible for any content or postings we make on their platform.

wow, you just destroyed my view of Canada! I thought they have real free speech and not like Germany. I censor myself because I don´t want to break our new "anti-hate speech" law.

Now it seems to be similar :(

ITT: An American is suprised that Canada will not be the firearms safe haven.  It's almost as if Canada doesn't respect your Second Ammendment rights or something. :V

Anyone can sign up for the service. It's "public" in the sense that if you can pay the $3/mo, you can get access.

It's no different from Netflix or HBO having to abide by legislation.
