If you were born and raised in Germany and your german is 10/10, how would you translate this to german:

 

"Warning! Do not open while machine is in operation"

I'm Dutch, but I can read a basic German sentence.

 

''Warnung! Öffnen Sie nicht, während die Maschine in Betrieb ist'' from Google translate SHOULD be good, but I'm not 100% sure.

 

Why should your boss be mad at you for translating a sentence in a language you don't know lol.

I also asked a german buddy, and he said the google translator result is actually accurate. They don't really use a slang form such as like in Spanish where google translator butchers English -> Spanish.

I would pretty much say it like:

"Vorsicht! Nicht öffnen während das Gerät in Betrieb ist!"

But the one above me is also pretty accurate.

I wouldn't take the Google Translation, it isn't grammatically correct.

Yours is a better translation. 'Aktiv' doesn't quite fit.
