EA being sued

xtbe

EA is being sued for the issues that came up with BF4

It were the investors that have filed a case against the game company

The lawyers claim EA lied by claiming that the game was great and awesome (while knowing about the issues) in order to boost sales

They should also have seen that several EA people sold shares which indicates that they knew about the issues of the game.

EA don't think much will be reached with these claims and told that they will thoroughly defend themselves in court.

Well they could have released it a week ago without bugs and still crush COD ghosts.

probably, but there is 99.9% that that was the case.

First off, I'd definitely be much happier if they (publishers in general) would only release games which weren't riddled with bugs. Like, who wouldn't?

But when I was reading stuff about this, it seems that the final straw as it were for investors was when EA announced they were holding all DICE projects until BF4 was fixed. Now I don't know about anyone else, but that sounds like a really good move imo, and not something that should be shut down in the future because of the threat of a lawsuit. Obviously the ideal situation is that they actually release a game without any bugs (or at least without any more than your "average game"), but if a game is released which is buggy I don't want them (publishers in general) to be prevented from allocating a lot of resources to fixing them because they're worried about being sued by investors.

Yeah, I think that's everything I wanted to say. Probably.

There's a difference between saying a game is good or bad and lying to your own investors who pay your company bills in order to rush a sale at the cost of those investors' money. It's going in the direction of fraud.
