Starting January 1st, 2021, we will be handing out awards based on new higher folding badge thresholds. These new values have been decided due to the increase of power a GPU can provide; this has made it much easier to achieve badges in recent years. Anyone holding a current badge will be grandfathered in! This means you won't have your badge downgraded after the new thresholds come into effect.    F@H Badge Thresholds In order to be rewarded with the Folding @ Home badge, please

I might be having that issue. ITNOS appears to have crashed or frozen overnight

Is it me or have the WU projects bee a bit harder to complete recently (but yeilding more PPD)? There were definite times I thought ITNOS was frozen but then 200k pops up suddenly. Overall it looks like my weekly WU count is going down but PPD is achieving similar numbers. (ITNOS by itself averages 365k ppd underclocked)

I’ve observed the same thing during the Sprint. That the 1060s were getting projects with longer Frame times. It’s a little harder for me to get objective evidence as I don’t track frame time and since the A/C has arrived I’ve reduced my power limits to as low as they go (2kW down to around 1).

 

The Sloan Kettering servers came back on-line yesterday so the 11733 WUs are back which is really great news for Windows users and not as much for Linux but I noticed last night that a 1060 6GB on a 60W Power-Limit suffers a roughly 1/3 reduction in PPD from around 350 to 250kPPD so I removed the beta flag from 2of the three 1060s. The 1070Ti seems less effected.

Yeah it was crazy last year, I'm going to be talking to the LMG lot in advance this time then right before the start like last year

Smaller CPU units, rather than ones that last 24+ hours, would be very nice indeed, and allow for use of things like my main work machines between when I'm working them hard.  Currently, that's often enough, that it just doesn't make sense to even bother trying to fold on them.

Mr. Stats man here - can we PLEASE do October or December or some other month where there's no change in Daylight savings time? I vote for October to do it sooner rather than later.

 

About the only benefit to December is people being able to take advantage of Black Fridays sales in North America and the disadvantage being people leaving early due to holiday travel.

Can't look atm, it's 0235 here and my partner is sleeping so can't be faffing around with the rig atm. But, my network is all good. I wonder if it's trying to write to my encrypted drive or something... I will investigate as soon as I can.
