Macbook air vs imac

Hello everyone, 

 

I have a used 13" macbook air from mid 2013 that I want to sell and someone offered me a mid 2011 imac for it

Do you think this trade is worth it? Or should I ask for a supplement or just refuse the deal altogether? What do you guys think?

 

Here are the specs of each mac :

Macbook air mid 2013

13 inches screen

cpu : i5 dual core 1,3GHz (should be an i5 4250u)

4GB of ram

256GB ssd

Versus

iMac mid 2011

21.5 inches screen

cpu : i5 quad core 2.5GHz (should be an i5 2400s)

12GB of ram

500GB of hdd (no ssd)

agreeed, sell if possible for li ke 700, even a budget pc like that could get better resu lts.

I already have a laptop and a gaming pc (check my signature)

I would either use the imac for programming, or just sell it, but I don't know if I'd get a better profit by selling the imac or the macbook

i would prob just sell it without i mac unless you want to tr y out macOS (which you already have lol)

Yeah, I already use macOS, my laptop is a 2017 macbook

Someone gave my the macbook air for scrap but I managed to repair it, so I'm trying to sell it

OP if you are already using a mac with a SSD in it 

 

there is NO WAY you want to go back to HDD , no freaking way. 

 

see a mac with HDD in it, just run away. 

 

even a 2017 top of the line 5k imac is still garbage if it only has SSHD or HDD in it.

Don't worry, I discovered the wonders of ssd's around 2012 and I never went back (except for games and nas of course)

If I take the iMac, I plan on replacing the hdd with a spare 256GB ssd

If I was trying to sell a Macbook, I wouldn't want to get stuck with an old iMac that would be even harder to sell. My 0.02$.

The thing is, I might use the iMac, but for programming only
