would a better card do anything for me?

Dylan lol

the only game i really play is Lol and i play on highest detail everything with shadows off with over 100 fps but only get 60 of it because of my monitor and its really smooth with no lag, what would a graphics card upgrade do like a gtx 770 from my gt 520?

I play tons of league too, if you play lots of ranked getting a better GPU would help, sometimes queue times can be very long, so you could play other games in the meantime, or if you get bored of league you always have another option to fall back on

It would be a massive improvement. With a 770 you can max out most games at 1080p.

However if you're just playing league, you'd be better off saving your money and just getting a 7750/7770 because it will already max out league without a sweat and still have an adequate amount of performance if you decide to explore other games.

i might start playing dota 2 but i assume its about the same as league. but for league only would a better card do ANYTHING for me? since i can only get 60 fps because of my 60 hz monitor i dont know what a better card would do besides increase fps and make it lag-free, but i dont lag either with highest settings

It won't do anything for league, hell I get like 500 fps on league max settings, and that's 90% of what I've been doing lately, but having more possibilities to play other games sometimes when you're bored is very very nice.

If you ever have a crappy game with idiot teammates you can take a breather and play a diff game :P

i was thinking about getting a 560 ti like u have but they dont have evga available anymore. its #1 on the price/performance ratio on the video card benchmark site. http://www.amazon.com/GeForce-GTX-560-Ti-DisplayPort/dp/B00CI7FWJM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1387347375&sr=8-1&keywords=560+ti would this be a lot better than gt 520? when i asked this question about the 560 ti before someone said to get this version because its better, but why is it better? http://www.amazon.com/MSI-N560GTX-Ti-M2D1GD5-OC-GeForce-Graphics/dp/B006MH2Z6W/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1387347376&sr=8-7&keywords=560+ti

It won't do anything better. A 7770 should play league maxed out at ~140fps and more if you overclock it. It's also a very good overclocker.

It would be a lot better than your card but the 7770 is a better value.

The 560 Ti was the best value card but not anymore. Nowadays, it's the 7770, 7790, or 7850 depending on pricing.

@Dylan lol you could get a 660 or 650 ti boost or a 7850

a few 660's are pretty cheap on newegg: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121660

7850 are cheap aswell http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102999

i think 660 is a tad bit faster but I could be wrong

where on amd's site does it say the PSU required for their cards like on nvidias site under the specs? btw that 660 is only 192-bit so it cant use all the ram on it. could u answer my question above tho, why did someone tell me that msi 560 ti is better than the zotac, he said it had better cooling or something?

This is eBay. You can find all sorts of prices and that is hardly a new card.

There's also a $30 postage and $30 import charge that makes it $160. The new 7850 is cheaper and performs better:  http://pcpartpicker.com/part/xfx-video-card-fx785aznl4

The 7770 can be bought for £35 and that's after postage.

The Msi Twin Frozr is one of the best coolers for the 560 Ti which allows for higher overclocking. It's also built better.

The 7770 is priced at $95 on the site but you can often find it at $70 after rebate on newegg.

The 560 Ti is discontinued.

Lemme look at those cards and post back to you.

Also the required wattage for a 7850 is ~130 watts so just add that onto the rest of ur system and you can figure out what the wattage you'll need is.

nvm @WoodenMarker ninja'd me

The msi's cooler is a lot better, twin frozr is one of the best coolers on the market still, even to this day
