The android gods have truly blessed us this day with the ability to brick any IOS device with one simple character.

 

No I'm joking this is just annoying.

 

So basically there is a character in the Indian Alphabet called Telugu that appears to not be correctly entered in the iOS text table (IDK how BSD based iOS is otherwise I'd say ASCII or ANSI) that just kills your phone or tablet.  So, if I was a dick, or someone was, Telugu could be on this page and kill your device's browser.  In fact if the character appears in ANY app it crashes.  If its in your notifications it resets your phone.  And not a soft reset or soft shutoff like if your power button is held down, more like full segfault and kernel panic aplenty.

 

Now for me with knowing about the iboot leak and being a phone hacker this seems useful as hell to help force a reboot and overwrite the bootloader with a custom image.  Outside of that?  No idea how this could be USEFUL to anyone.

Apple needs to chill with pushing releases before they're actually ready. First it was the "power effective," then it was the calculator app, and  now this. This should be stuff tested in iOS beta versions, and they should focus on getting the OS bug free before the next animoji addition.

The old saying "Steve Jobs wouldn't have released this in its current state" is often overused but is still oh so true. His strive for perfection seems to be absent from the company based on the recent shortfalls of the new MacBook Pro, and iPhone X. All of these products seem to have came with huge compromises in the software whether it's in the UI design or OS stability. The bugs in Mac OS High Sierra and the unintuitive UI of iOS 11 on iPhone X are prime examples. In terms of design and build-quality, Apple seems to be continuing on as if he was still at the helm. But in the software division, it just seems like a group of monkeys with no direction or leader.

They'll never know you sent it because they won't be able to open their messages.  Apple won't be able to do anything about it either because it shits on OSX too.

This is a joke right? Apple have had under/over-flow string parsing errors on iOS three times now. How the Billy-Joe-F*** does this keep happening?
