yes but its not really a good idea, unless the motherboard has proprietary connectors id just upgrade the PSU to a nice reliable new unit

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

why would you want to use a 5850 tough? do you already have a card?

otherwise you could get a low-tier card like a 1030 or even a cheap quadro that doesn't need external power.

If you have dvi output you can just use a dvi to hdmi cable or adapter.

Provided the dell uses a standard ATX 24-pin cable to the motherboard there are calbes/boards etc that will work for this. Other than that I can't recommend it but you can simply turn on both the PC and the second PSU at the same time.

That sounds janky AF. Either use a molex adapter to connect or save up to replace the PSU for something better.

Well could anything bad happen if i do what i was saying like if i turn the gpu psu on first and then the dell on will it explode

theres an exceptional amount of "dont" between those adapters and prebuilts with low capacity power supplies.

Actually, I'd ditch the idea all together and try to find a low powered card that can run from the motherboard if you need it for HDMI.

Had a 5850 forever ago which also came from a prebuilt and the temps were awful. Can't imagine it fairing well in a cramped Dell case.

WHY do you cheap out on a PSU so much?!

What Dell, what PSU??

And if the Drive connectors are connected to the Motherboard, don't even think about using an adaptor...
