They are mainly advertising to the people that want to be active. What they don't tell you is the balance of activity and diet to lose that weight.

Look, the first thing is to understand your situation. That is a professional's job. Now, depending where you are, that may not come for free or be that easy, but you have to understand that different people doing the same won't experience the same outcomes. There are differences in body type, metabolism and lifestyle that have to be taken into account. I'm on the opposite side, I do whatever and just can't gain weight. In terms of most people's dietary advice I should be dead by now, and maybe colesterol will take me one day, or I'll develop diabetes, I really can't tell how I'm doing on those fronts without a medical checkup, but BMI remains borderline normal. So obviously whatever I may say based on my experience would be useless to a lot of other people.

 

Bottom line: it's OK to have losing weight as a goal if you are overweight, but please don't ask Dr. Internet and start trying random pseudo-scientific recipes. If you can, talk to a specialist, and if not just start with small things first, especially don't start taking extreme measures on the food intake front. That's a health risk in exchange for dubious benefits at best.

Oh my, aren’t you in luck. I just shed like 40 pounds of weight in like 3 months.

I’ll share my secret. 

 

Diet is the key. Yeah, people often say exercise and yada yada but diet is like 80% of factor contributing to fat gain/fat loss. Even if you run for an hour, one chocolate bar is enough to have you gain back all the calories you had burn from running. Reverse is true, rather than becoming sendantary, most people who wish to bulk up should eat more rather than cutting down on their activities.

 

i am not saying exercise isnt important, it certainly is to maintain health and fitness but for losing weight? It pales in comparison to diet otherwise we would’ve solve all those malnourishment and hunger in Africa. Energy deficit will always result in fat and this weight loss. It is simple physics and organic chemistry.

 

here is what I did:

 

500ml nonfat milk for breakfast with 3 eggs. You can cook the eggs however you like. I usually sautéed it in pan with one small spoon of olive oil.

 

lunch is skipped. Who eats lunch anyway? Go drink bottles of carbonated Dihydrogen monoxide if you feel hunger too much. 

 

Now for dinner, where majority of your daily calories and nutrients will come from in this diet. People say too much calories at dinner is bad because your body will be sleeping not long afterwards and this result in weight gain. Well guess what? It is bullshit because otherwise we would again have solve malnourishment in Africa by just altering the eating cycle. Do a 24 oz fat less chicken breast for dinner. Sautéed in one small spoon of olive oil or grill it. Season it with lemon pepper. Next, fix yourself a salad with the following: romaine lettuce, broccoli, spinach, squash, tomatoes and season it with one spoonful of olive oil and slightly sweeten rice vinegar. After main meal is done, treat yourselves to two very sweet medium size oranges from Walmart. 

 

Do do eat any snacks!! Or your effort will be wasted. Empty your entire fridge except ingridents for these meals.

 

These will provide you a heathy dose of daily essential vitamins and minerals and also loads of essential amino acides and protein to fend off hunger and minimize muscle loss as your body enters and adapts to energy deficit.

 

also, I did mention it is unimportant but try jogging anywhere from 15-30 minutes. If 15, fill the rest of the hour with fast walking or if 30, 30 minutes of fast walking. Muscle training is also recommended but I would recommend only start muscle building when you had shed off enough fat because muscle actually requires energy surplus to build and maintain. 

 

I had had been losing like 4 pounds a week for 3 strain months on such diet. Oh, your first 4-8 pounds will be water weight so don’t get too excited if you lose like 10 pounds in one week. True progress won’t start after you had lost 10 pounds or more.

 

dont try losing more than 4 pounds a week or your body will surfer from metabolism illness.

Starvation actually shuts down your metabolism. Plus you'd lose muscle along-side fat. Just eat like a normal fucking human.

i can try jogging but ETRH i hate it i would love to do it but fuk me i get out too fast lol i can walk 2.50 miles and im done or 2 and a half i mean and im kinda wanting to fuk off but i mean if i seriously forced myself maybe but jogging heeheheh uhhhhh i might fail eheheh

There are a number of fitness apps you can download for free. Couch to 5k is a popular one. Strava is a popular bicycling tracking app. Start small, start slow, but be active.

 

On the diet front, the real secret is eat less, eat more plants than meat, and eat better ingredients. In other words, minimize processed stuff and fast food, and instead cook fresh stuff from the veggie and fish/meat aisles. Cut out sodas and sugar-infused crap. Throw out all snack food you have (can't eat what's not there....), etc etc.

 

Combining increasing physical activity with healthier eating will yield the results you're looking for. The diet part is just as important as the physical exercise.

 

Lastly, you're 18. An adult, ostensibly; yet your posts read like a middle schooler's stream of consciousness. You can do better.

Maybe just try talking out loud exactly how you type. The amount of effort required to make such inhumane sounds and excessive squealing will likely create enough calorie burn from how much you would need to use your tongue and jaw muscles.

 

(This is scientifically true - chewing gum helps weight loss due to keeping the jaw and facial muscles active).

It would depend on when you need to wake up. On weekdays, it would have to be earlier because of school. On weekends, try to stay consistent with your schedule on weekdays. Try to get 7-8 hours.

Honestly the secret to losing weight (or doing anything really) is wanting it enough. Do you want it enough that you'll make yourself exercise 30 minutes every single day and lay off some sugar and fat? (I don't recommend completely leaving sugar/fat out of the blue your stomach will hate you).

 

There's a lot of Youtube Channels that have fitness  exercises / routines, I'd recommend you look up "fitness training" or a similar phrase in YouTube search, find a trainer you like and do their exercises. It's free and in your home :P
