That will be expensive; retro games are collectibles and therefore pay a premium for them assuming your gonna go the NES / SNES route amd not like the Switch/Wii

I miss the days when I actually had enough free time to utter the words "i'm bored".

Anyways,

Nerd stuff/projects I'd go for if I had the time.

Learn how to use Operating Systems like Linux (i'm a Windows guy and would like to learn more with Linux).  I've installed a few flavours of Ubuntu but I know barely any Linux command line.

Go back to learning some web based languages like PHP

Repurpose my old PC hardware into Unraid or ESXI boxes for network storage and VMs

Build a Mame Cabinet

I'm sure there's more but that's all I can think of for now.

So this list suggests a lot of things.

But learning an instrument is a fun one. I play a bit of guitar and am saving for a keyboard.

When I Was really bored once I advertised my services as a repair / computer teacher. Getting paid for fixing a computer or teaching someone how to use a word app. Easy money.

Building models is actually pretty fun if you have the patience. Personally I prefer mechanical things so maybe build a bicycle.

Reading - Nothing like getting into a good book.

Join a club - Maybe there is a role playing group near you. Nothing like pretending to be a knight of the realm on a Sunday afternoon with a bunch of other nerds.

I support the instrument one, i've been playing guitar for 8 years now and it has made me delve into music further to the point where i've actually learnt to dance as well

It teaches you the basics however it doesn't fully teach you how to use specific sections in your own code it's all specific examples, but then again my first introduction to programming was C++ at university so of course that site might be slightly below my "skill level" as it were, but for complete beginners it's great. I'd recommend HTML and CSS websites are always needed

Personally Java a bit of a wasted effort; if you're gonna go down OOP (Object Orientated Programming) a language like C++ might serve you better however it is very tricky to learn; but that's just my personal opinion of course. You're free to learn whatever language you want
