New Personal Keyboard Pick, help ^^

Short and simple, I'm buying a new keyboard for my personal computer.

 

I like the old fashion format, no extra macro keys.

 

I have been personally between stuff like Corsair K70 LUX RGB and Logitech G810, I already own a Corsair M65 PRO RGB which would be nice to only use one software for all RGB, I'm open to ideas, best deals and every thing, buying on e-commerce from New York.

I can't speak for the G810, but the K70 LUX can store RGB settings so you don't need to have the software running for any fancy RGB lighting setups you want to have. You only need it if you want to change something.

What kind of switches are you after?

I have a G410 Atlas, and I'm not the hugest fan of how they feel. They're like a...looser Brown switch.

 

I had a K70, I wasn't a fan. The volume scroll wheel is sticky and just feels...amateur. Other than that they're decent. If you don't need a NUMPad I'd suggest the K65.

Preferred switch type? I have the Logitech G710+ and the K70 kux (both brown switches), I did notice initially the K70 seemed louder and was more fatiguing even though they were the same switch. Upon closer inspection, they K70 keys dont come with O rings. Bought a set and installed them, and it was back to perfection.

K70 is great, K70 RGB and LUX variants not so much. the font makes me want to die tbh but the board itself is good

I really have no idea, truth be told the only mechanical keyboard I own was an IBM M which I used until recently when I felt it was showing age time I decided to store it and bought a cheapo membrane keyboard which did serve me quite well until here... truth be told I'm comfortable with it only reason I'm upgrading is because this is literally the last thing to finish the personal build, good stuff all around

Yes same thing goes for my mice, I am really going towards the K70 RGB because it is the layout I like and it does look fancy , I just wanted to hear some thoughts on it

Oh, yeah. The K70 doesn't have any o-rings. It is pretty clacky regardless of switch type until you get some.

Cant personally comment on the RGB version. I dont know if they differ significantly, I wouldn't assume so. I just know that I really noticed the difference between a keyboard that came with O rings and one that didnt.

Sweet thanks, I'm assuming 125pc is enough for the whole keyboard (idk how many keys they have )

I'd recommend getting the clear ones though, the black ones cover part of the illuminated keys in some spots like on my O key

For real though I might like it without the o-rings might feel like my old IBM one... so far I haven't had any compeling reason why not go K70 RGB

Thanks, those are cheaper than the other ones, I don't see an option for the clear ones though

I have browns and they seem to do well in everything I have used them for

There is no "correct one" only which switch type you prefer. If yoou dont know, there's always this:

If you or the people around you don't care about noise, Blues. Otherwise Browns. :3

 

But it's a preference thing. Mostly if you want feedback or not.

From what I gather I would want the blue ones, sadly though pcpartpicker shows they are quite expressively more expensive against the brown ones

Depends on the Keyboard. The K70's blue switches are more expensive, but on the STRAFE, the reds are the most expensive, with blue and browns being cheapest
