How do I fix this windows backup Error?

Jest a gamer 27

I literally got a new external 4TB drive to put windows system image on them and they keep crashing and giving me error like these. Ive search for hours for a solution but I can't find one. My current rig has a 250 GB ssd and a 1tb hdd. Ive tried doing an Image with just the SSD with no success (as shown in the image). If I do the two drives, It also crashes. I don't know what to do at this point

Edit: I am running Windows 10 Home, 64 bit

It's possible your drive is pooping out.

What do you mean exactly? I just bought it and I have another external hdd that also doesn't work, it gives out the same error.

I kind of knew it's external. Pooping out as in your external drive cannot handle the load, so it "crashes" thus why you get that "drive not found error".

There is no fix, but you can try some of these options

  • Update motherboard bios
  • Change a USB cable
  • Try another USB port
  • Update USB controller drivers
  • Get a better external HDD
  • Get a Internal HDD

I don't use windows backup, but I have encounter that type of behavior you're having and the reason is the USB controller on the enclosure can't handle the transfer load, so it craps out half way. What is your motherboard and what external hdd do you have?

Okay so both hdd and your system has usb 3 ports. Based on the design, I assume you place your hdd on top of the case where it has those 2 usb ports next to the audio jacks?

No, I place the USB in the front of the case where the USB 3.0 slots are.

edit: edit: It used to work before when I didn't have my ssd

Okay so you're using the front usb 3, try the ones on the back. Those USB 3 ports are from Intel, but they don't provide new drivers for Windows 10. It uses drivers from Microsoft.
