Suggestion: Fix Ocassional SSL Security issue with images

AlTech

Hi,

I've got a suggestion which isn't necessarily a bug per se but is an issue I think.

My suggestion is to allow the forum to store a local copy of images if the source of the image is not secure.

I know this can be easily done in IPS and would take a matter of minutes to apply.

So yeah, this would cause all traffic on LTT to always be encrypted.

Example of the issue:

Thanks :).

I vaguely recall there being some reason that it wasn't enabled, but I can't remember what it was at the moment. I'll have another look into it in a couple of weeks.

I'm no expert in this but I know most images are actually links to other sites, and not hosted locally, and in this case, wouldn't it be impossible to secure those if they are from an insecure source?

If a website which an image is hosted on uses HTTPS then the forum will appear as Secure because communication with the site is secure.

The issue is that some images come from websites which may not be secure and thus creating a local copy for whatever period of time would ensure that it is secure. IPS also provides the tools to specify after how long the image could be deleted, if ever.
