What are your ideal laptop specs?

I've been longing for a laptop that has:

120hz G-Sync screen

90WHr battery

GTX 1080 Max-Q

Not horribly loud

 

Will this ever exist?? It seems very possible to me. There are several laptops out that have even larger batteries but lack other features. I've been looking at the HP Omen X because it's 120Hz, 99WHrs, and has a 1070. But I really want gsync maaaaan. PLEASE SOME ONE MAKE THIS ;(

I also forgot to mention that a 7700HQ would be ideal for lower power usage. Or maybe even an 8700HQ?? Anyone know when those are gonna hit laptops??

The Alienware 15 R4 has all of that except a Max-Q 1080. Just a normal 1080

I really love my Clevo N150RD, it using a Skylake i5 and a GTX960M. But damn it rocks and is quiet!

My older laptops where either Medions/ASUS's/MSI's/HP's none of these served me well for more then a couple months before inexplicably dying or giving up. My Clevo is reaching 6 months and still works like new.

As per your question, I do not think said laptop exists.. sorry matey.

Maybe I should stop being so elitist-y and buy a realistically speced laptop haha a 1060 is really good nowadays for the price and power usage

Not saying it'll never release, but by the point that comes out software/games have already advanced to the point where it'd need more then a 1080 with Max-Q.

But in the end you can wait if you'd like, but I just play games as a hardcore PC elitist at home when sitting at my desk. With great audio/a great mouse/keyboard and in a quiet environment.

On the go I play on medium settings with some cheaper earbuds, and I still enjoy it very much!

Since if you are like me and use it at work you'll be having less time to fully play a game and just play when you have some spare time, aka d*ck around. 

In the end it is up to you, but I like it this way but that again is me ;)

Gsync kills battery life, are you sure you want to sacrifice battery life? (Even a 90Whr battery can't last long)

 

Why 1080 Max-Q? They are on par with a regular mobile 1070 (an OCed 1070 is slighly faster than 1080 Max-Q). Max-Q is only a marketing gimmick IMO

 

If you want a fairly quiet laptop, look for those bulky laptops with good cooling solution and you need to do some tweaking like undervolting

I was thinking Max-Q for the faster memory yet slightly less power usage but now I guess you're right! The cost would wayyy outweigh the 10w less tdp or whatever it is I can't remember. And I didn't know gsync drained battery, thanks.

I definitely agree with you. Instead of paying way too much for a Max-Q GPU, I can get a 1070 or even 1060 and save that money to buy a nice gaming monitor. I currently have an old Samsung 1080p 60Hz monitor which works well but It's so lame compared to the rest of my setup. Then I can have my PC enthusiast setup at home and carry a PRACTICAL laptop around

I haven't used G-Sync before, but I've never noticed any screen tearing with my 144Hz displays. Like @ZM Fong said, G-Sync disables Optimus so battery life is destroyed. Not sure if it's still on sale at the moment but the 1070 Max Q ROG Zephyrus was under $2000 yesterday. Can't go wrong with an Alienware if you're made of money.

Get a bulky laptop with good cooling solution if you're going 1070 GPU or higher. Max-Q doesn't have much advantages, high inner and outer temps (for thin laptops), low noise only achieved with custom preset (reduced performance) etc
