Sync Forum Names with Discord Nicknames

Since LTT's new Discord it is hard to know whos who on the Discord because some people have different forum names than their Discord names. I do not know if this is possible because of the forums limitations but I know of some Discord servers do this with games and such.

Nah, cause people on here would know me (nobody cares anyways about me so I'm not a good example), and on Discord, nobody would know me (I'm not important there either, so I'm not a good example).

so...you want discord to force the same name as the forum or you want the forum to force the same name as discord?

 

either way it's a bad idea. People might be known as a different name in their circle of friends (like me. this isn't my normal online name for most things) so forcing a name change on discord would discourage people and if the forum was changed to have the names synced to discord it would get abused. there is a reason that they don't allow name changes on the forum

If it was standalone service, I'd agree. But AFAIK in Discord nick is same across whole platform. While I use same pretty much everywhere, some don't. And the fact that CS prevents name changes on the forum makes things difficult overall. Let people have some freedom in there.

In Discord theres server nicknames and their usernames and tags.

That would be cool if the server admins can make notes but it's public so instead of changing the nicknames it could change the notes but this is not possible in discord.
