I saw that one gtx 1050 ti can run oculus at the lowest settings, but can 2 run htc vive or oculus at high setting?

Why would you SLI 1050TIs? That's pointless, just buy a 1060 or 1070 with that money.

Agreed. Plus you can't even SLI 1050, 1050Ti, or 1060

First of all, why the hell are people even still considering SLI? For the price of two 1050Tis you could get a 1060..

Second, SLI doesn't work with VR, at all, afaik Yes, it would be useful to have one GPU per eye but there's only one connection and no software that supports that.

Third, nothing can run the Vive at "high" settings. "high" settings on the Vive means maximum superscaling, which not even my 1080Ti can run.

Lastly, I'd never run anything lesser or equal to a 1060/580 for VR. You want a decent resolution and decent graphics to work with otherwise it's not immersive at all.

You can kind of SLI anything but it's a pretty dodge solution

No, you can't

SLI involves the SLI fingers and a bridge.

Multi-GPU support that was talked about for DX12 isn't SLI

id love to see SLI without the fingers...

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

Low details, high vomit factor as the frame drops kicked in. Unless, I mean, you could always run VR in 800x600 for a smooth framerate.

No, if you want VR, I'd highly recommend saving up for at least a 6GB 1060. There are going to be some spectacular deals on graphics cards over the next few weeks, and even better deals on prebuilts that might have the GPU you want in them. Before the mining boom, it wasn't uncommon to see prebuilts with an RX 480 that, if you sold off the rest of the prebuilt, would net you a 480 for ~$100.

To make things short and simple, you should not SLI any thing that isn't a 1080 Ti and if you're rich, this solution is no longer optimal for today's gaming.

Being literal you can not run 1050 / 1060 in SLI, but in like 3 games that support multi-gpu in DX12 you could use 2 of them together for an ever shittier performance scaling than SLI making it even more pointless.

If you already own a 1050 Ti and wants to go VR (don't go VR it is pointless), you need to sell it and afford a 1070.

SLI is not supported for any 10-series card below the 1070. If you want something more powerful than a 1050 Ti, buy a 1060.

Unless you plan on mining, there's absolutely no reason to install two 1050 Ti cards on a single board. If you are planning on getting into mining, I'd like to politely point out that you're buying the wrong cards.

Yes, actually. You can configure to have one side of the headset to be run on one or the other. Requires a little extra hardware(20$) for the 2 HDMI cables.
