So looking to change my current mechanical driver that the OS is using for something that is in the range of 120GB. Was wondering what are some good manufactures out there that make decently good SSD's?

I'd highly recommend  upwards of 240gb, as its not much more but will save you headache in the long run(even installing programs to a separate HDD, I still had issues with windows OS not having enough space for updates)

The most important things to look at is 4K read speeds, and what kind of NAND it uses.  You want something with a bare minimum of 20MB/s 4K read speed.  Shoot for 30MB/s.   There are diminishing returns, so you'll see very little difference between a 30MB/s and 40MB/s drive.  Get MLC if you can, but TLC is okay.  NAND types go QLC<TLC<MLC<SLC. SLC tends to be very expensive, so it's probably out of the picture.  A lot of TLC drives will include a small SLC cache, which makes readings less reliable.  Don't worry too much about the sequential read/write speeds.

As for brands, Samsung is the best.

They are all pretty much the same, I would go with something that has longest warranty.

That's absolutely not true. There are very big differences between SSD's.
