4 Core scrub with a 1080ti. Should I upgrade?

One of those questions that falls into several categories. Does it belong in CPU forum? I've put it here because the system is exclusively for gaming!

So I recently got a 1080ti because I'm crazy like that.
My build looks a little mismatched now though. i5-4670k at 4.3ghz.
I play at 4k60hz and I do tend to play AAA titles.

Will upgrading to a shiny new Coffee lake give me much higher FPS for what i'd spending? (CPU+MB+Ram+RGB)
I Figure Ryzen is out of the question because in any game that uses 4 cores or less I'd be getting a lower frame-rate.(lower IPC) so its Intel only for me.
But on the high end is there evidence of FPS gain coming from this to something like an 8700k?

Is that FPS gain worth the cost of entry? (<£600)

My current build and what I'd buy if I upgraded today.
(Thats a 7700k not an 8700k because the 8700k is £150 more at the moment)

Gaming with: Asus GTX 1080ti Strix OC SLI @1950mhz & r7 2700x@4.2ghz / GSkill 3466mhz CL14 (1440p165hz)
Loitering with: Galaxy S8+

I'm pretty sure at 4K60Hz an i5-4670k (OC) is totally fine.

You really only see bottle necking with a quad-core i5+GTX 1070 (or better) when trying to run at 1080p144Hz

I wouldn't think it to be worth the cost of upgrading.

You're fine. Lowering your settings for minimum 60Hz would likely make your experience better.

Thats what I was thinking, but in Deus Ex and AC: Origins, my CPU is pegged constantly.
I also wonder if it might help with minimums seeing as my main issue at the moment is stuttering. Hard to tel if its not down to poorly optimized games though:(

Some games will bottleneck at certain resolutions with the 4670K. When I had mine and a GTX 970 I couldn't get a steady 144 FPS in Overwatch. Once I upgraded to an i7 the problem went away.

At 1440P I would imagine it's less of an issue but I can't say for certain.

I would get a 4790k, should help a little bit on the cores front (100% means all cores are in use) and for the higher OC ceiling afforded by the 4_90k series

Want to custom loop?  Ask me more if you are curious

I would say the difference would be marginal at best. Some games are more cpu dependent than others. What I would do is run benchmarking software and  check the percentage of cpu usage if its constantly hovering around 100% with frames your not happy with than maybe a cpu upgrade wouldn't be a bad choice. (btw ubisoft is known for having bad pc ports)

AC;Origins is an outlier due to mismanaged DRM. Deus Ex: MD (assuming you mean MD) should be seeing around the 90Hz mark in levels and 80Hz minimums in the hub/Prague.

Strange. I can see the 970 holding you back in OW, but then again I'm playing with a 1080 at 1080@60 and seeing 130Hz minimums; 4.5GHz.

Edit: Just tried it out and it's about 118Hz minimums.

Edit: Hanzo is a better choice for me as I just got creamed playing Genji... :(

Bruh Genji is hard as hell to play. Then again, so is Ana, my main.
