I'm looking for frame rate limiting software

VWood

Hi,
I am currently trying to play Thief: Deadly shadows and I can't play it because of the frame rate bug.
I also want to limit frame rates in other games in order to keep my GPU temperatures low.

Using Rivatuner to limit the frame rate causes Thief to crash and causes momentary frame rate drops in other games like STRAFE.
Nvidia Inspector works in getting Thief to run but it is limited in the programs that it can frame limit. Also, Inspector permanently modifies the graphics driver (until you install a new driver) and I would rather avoid a program like that.

Does anyone know of a reliable alternative software to limit frame rates for any game?

Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you.

You have different modes you can run Riva Tuner in if it causes issues, have you tried them?

(at the top, app detection level)

I have tried that, even adaptive v-sync, but it doesn't work.

I've tried different settings but so far nothing seem to work. I will keep messing with it but it doesn't seem like anything is making a difference.

The highest app detection level with Vector 2D or 3D should work I guess.
