Can't Decide

Hey guys, I'm looking for some guidance on drives (duh lol) // basically, I'm getting a Samsung 960 EVO as a boot drive and I need help deciding what the most cost-efficient way to handle file storage is. Silence is very important and I don't see myself using more than 512GB so I don't think I should get an HDD, but rather a cheap SSD. Do you guys have any recommendations? I'd like to stay within $300 for both drives.

Samsung 850 Evo are solid SSDs, i mean they are quite fast

The cheapest NVME SSD is the WD Black m.2. I personally own it and it has been great for me. I have my OS and program files stored on it and my mass storage like documents, pictures, downloads, music, videos, games etc. is saved to a hard drive.

If you just want a regular SSD for a boot drive or even mass storage I would still go for m.2 since it costs the same but as others have already suggested Crucial has great 1TB options as well as WD. I also own some 250GB and 500GB m.2 SSD's from Crucial and WD in other systems. obviously not as fast as an NVME m.2 but still way better than a mechanical hard drive as boot.
