CPU not at 100% when rendering

Hi,

So for no reason when I render now in premiere my CPU usage is at like 95% for 10 seconds and then goes down to 65. Any thoughts?

What software are you using? Is the chip getting to hot? Do you have power saving features on?

Which chip you have? if it's Haswell check the Power Saving functions, Temps

I am using an 8350 and I have it at 4.5 Ghz and I turned off all the bullshit settings in the bios and it is running at 45C

what are you using to render? it may not be able to use 8 threads.

it looks like the application is ether bottle necked or has not be written properly to use a amd architecture on 8 threads

 

for example

your ram speed is too slow for the data swapping  (try oc you ram if possible)

your hd cant keep up  (get a ssd)

 

both will probably produce minimal improvement but a ssd in general will make your system fast.

I want to preface this post by saying I have no idea for a solution, but to those of you asking what program OP is using to render, read his/her post again. Clearly states Premiere is being used.

Hi,

Of course it's normal. It's extremely rare that your overall computer operations have a constant demand from your CPU. Even fluctuations of +/- 30% are normal.

Fairly quick considering the low bitrate. Also use CBR insread of VBR to reduce the possibilty of random blockiness.

It really depends on the footage you have. For example, if you render a 4:20 slideshow it won't take long. But a full on game or 3D design will take a bit longer.

Well there are time of high and low work load its renders some unloads to the hard drive renders some unloads etc.

Well becuase it uses the CPU power.... so the CPU is being used and it's fluctuating.
