I would not,  Your CPU and GPU will pull at least 150-200 watts.  We're not even counting other things you might be drawing more power from. You technically could,  but even nVidia reccomends you pull at least 300+

You can always check if Compact sell a higher wattage power supply to work with your PC, I know Asus or Acer do it with a 200something and 400something option.

PC - CPU Ryzen 5 1600 - GPU Power Color Radeon 5700XT- Motherboard Gigabyte GA-AB350 Gaming - RAM 16GB Corsair Vengeance RGB - Storage 525GB Crucial MX300 SSD + 120GB Kingston SSD   PSU Corsair CX750M - Cooling Stock - Case White NZXT S340

Peripherals - Mouse Logitech G502 Wireless - Keyboard Logitech G915 TKL  Headset Razer Kraken Pro V2's - Displays 2x Acer 24" GF246(1080p, 75hz, Freesync) Steering Wheel & Pedals Logitech G29 & Shifter

thats cutting it really close. i wouldent do it. if it boots, undervolting the CPU would be the first thing to do, and the GPU aswell if you can(dont think so) and i definatly wouldent on anything but a high quality PSU

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

It will be fine. Could probably even go up to a 1050ti.

I've got a i5 2320 and a r7 240 in my HP, two hard drives, and a wifi card all on a 240 watt power supply. Doesn't even blink.

Going up to an i7 2600 and a 1050 Ti come end of january probably.

You might be fine,  but that's still living on the edge.  Treck very carefully, dragons ahead

i5 2320 uses less than i7, r7 240 uses less than GTX 1050. No wonder you're safe.

u can buy a psu and run the psu only for that particular graphics card ( the extra psu will be external )  u can start a psu without somthing connected by using a paperclip or a 24pin starter tool c:

since the 1050 only uses 75watt u can get away with like a 200watt psu for only the 1050 c:

with an extra external psu u could even end up using 1080ti,s on that system if ud want :P

While I will admit, the r7 240 is a less power hungry card, I would argue its a tradeoff with the cpu power usage.

If it wasn't safe to pull 75 watts from the pci slot, asus wouldn't have it on the motherboard.

r7 240 pulls 30w maxx.  google was wrong

If they didn't want you pull 75 watts from the slot, they'd have a blurb on the PCB like Dell does on some of their SFF systems where it says "50 watts max".

I like edits so sometimes I use them

i7 sucha an unneccessery overkill for a GTX 1050, with Pentium G4560 you could get away with 250 W PSU

PSUs are dirt cheap especially in the 300-500w range... you should consider getting a bit more headroom IMO, not operate at the near limit.

a 300-400w should suffice for a 1050.
