Will This Case Hande a solid 10 years With Upgrades Considered?

The Corsair Carbide Series SPEC-02 Mid Tower Gaming Case is looking good to my eyes and it's pretty cheap.  But will it be able to handle any possible upgrades for the next 10 years, like more storage or a graphics card upgrade or I should consider a more expensive option to achieve "future-proof"?

I personally won't go for midi towers anymore, if the build or space doesn't require it. Big Towers to be on the safe side =) 

 

More room, more HDD bays, more room for cooling... etc

No one knows the future. 

Any case will last 10 years if standards don't change too much, and they are made solid. 

But knowing corsiar and the cases I've bought from them, something will snap if you mess with it a lot. Their customer support is great, my 900D flexes with the slightest movement, and my 380t is a nightmare in general.

Provided you regularly upkeep it Plastic is fairly robust. I have had PC cases last me 8 years or so before I upgraded them and the only difference I've noticed is slight loss of glossy surfaces, or slight shinning of matte finishes.

Oh and for good sturdy cases I can hint to Fractal Design... those are Tanks =)

Just think about what parts you're likely to buy in the future and buy on that. 

 

Are you going to go with multiple drives or just get bigger drives? Do you need 5.25" or 3.25" bays for hot-swaps or ODD's and how many? Are you going to stay with ATX motherboards at the largest? Custom water-cooling? [INSERT MORE QUESTIONS]

No really they are tanks... the metal is a little thicker than on other cases I know... when I got the first of the two Define XL R2 I thought it was made of gold... 

 

but a positive thing, you get a nice workout building your computer and moving it... 

 

That case has no bling but the one LED on the power button which can be connected to the power led or hdd led on the mobo... now window, but silent, air filters all around, and so much space that you can work up to your elbows in that case...

inside is a full atx mobo, a Gainward GF 760 Phantom, I removed one of the drive cages for better airflow, the dwarfed cpu cooler is an EKL Alpenföhn Gotthart. I think its the biggest air cooler (topflow) I know... it really is huge and inside that case it looks really neat and small =)

You say that's your point but you didn't mention that in your original reply. Please try to be a little bit more helpful, or at least explanatory in your replies.

You need to consider if you will ever plan on going SLI, and if 3 mechanical drives and 2 solid state drives will fit your needs. @Anghammarad has a good point that you may want to spend a little more on build quality if it's going to be kicking around for a decade. Also, are you air cooling, will you want to water cool? I don't think that Corsair case will support much in the way of water cooling, but I don't have much experience in that area. It's difficult to plan for the future when it comes to technology as it is always moving forward, you can only hope that the current standards are continued so your case is compatible.

Pretty much any case larger than MITX is future proof. The trend is towards smaller, I doubt 3.5" drives will used outside of the corporate environment in 10 years, PSUs are getting smaller, HBM memory on graphics cards will make them shorter. The only problem you're likely to encounter is a lack of USB type-C front panel connector.

btx was the main point there. I've seen some people mod the case to atx, it's a neat case. I remember wanting one of those but not having the money
