You see when you don't have quality you appeal to the dumb side of people and sell them a brand rather than a good product, slap a higher price tag on it to seem legit and profit.

And funny enough as we have seen daily here on the forum MSi motherboards due to bad VRMs, bad BIOS and so on are actually the worse of the entire Ryzen chipset line up

Where's your location, which type motherboard you are looking for and what store you are looking to buy it from?

Here in Indonesia, Gigabyte,and ASUS are still more expensive than other, even more expensive than retail price in most US.

alright their motherboards for ryzen arent very good, but you got to give it to them with graphics cards. mine is a stable card, very low noise and very high clocks

Well, from what I know, gigabyte's mobos are very good (mine is lasting A LOT, and I live near the beach). But when talking graphics cards, gigabyte really is one of the worst, to the point I bought a VGA that died in TWO MONTHS (long story, but probably fabrication issues).

whether or not you like apple, they offer a different experience. since no one else offers Apple's specific experience they can charge what they want. 

 

msi and gigabyte motherboards perform very close to each others and the BIOS is similar enough that there is almost no difference. (unless you have a preference to msi or gigabyte BIOS)

I meant the hardware, its like windows charging 400$ for their os not 100$

On AM4, both the Gigabyte and the MSI succ hard except one or two models for each manafacturer.

Dont forget, MSI does propagate "Gaming" and "VR" more than Hitler/Stalin their political thinking.

Gigabyte does clearly succ on the AM4 platform (except K7/G5 probably)

My choice from now on will always be Asus first, ASRock second.

Ahem, 1000$ laptop without an igpu is gonna have an i7 6700hq at a minimum, even at 700$ And at 1000$ the hp spectre and lg gram exist if you like the small and light and dont care much about performance.

I paid over $300 US for my MSI motherboard.

I could have paid less than half for a similar board at the time.

 

But I was willing to swallow the hefty price because:

• Lots of features for overclocking
• Two NVMe capable M.2 slots
• It was metallic white color at a time when no one else was doing white colored motherboards

Do I regret paying that much of a premium at the time for was mostly amounted to added bling? Not at all.

Asus and ASSRock are different league, because their mobos are usually good through the entire spectrum

MSI has always been soso or bad for amd but on the intel side they have some good mobo's really do for the x99 side of things. some company's may be getting something form intel to screw over there amd boards who knows why they are so trash but it dosnt mean everything they make is bad. the MSI Godlike gaming is the highest or one of the highest x99 mobo's and for FX serires they had some half decant boards. not the best vrms but they could get some very high overclocks on them and held some of the records for a bit. every company makes a bad gpu or mobo or something every now and then may it be maybe the public will not notice or to lazy/cheap to make a decant board again no one will know but they all have a iffy board somewhere unless its x299 then everyone has one.

Well I lost faith in Gigabyte after their RX 480 failure but their 580 seems good, they might be cheaping out on certain lesser important parts?
