should i buy a pentium g4560 or wait for i3 8100 (coffee lake)

I have enough money to buy a Pentium g4560 rig but I could reach out for a i3 processor..... since coffeelake is around the corner ...there is no reason to buy kabylake i3 7100.

Benefits--

pentium

1. best budget cpu and since I am not buying the GPU with the build as I have a VGA monitor

2.It will save my money to buy a gpu and monitor later. it will not stress on my wallet.

3. with i3 8100 I will have to wait long for my money to build up for the gpu and monitor

4.Plus the release date is next month think but don't know specified date.... I am afraid intel g4560 might not be available at that time...if I think the price of  i3 8th gen is more than i expected in my country

coffeelake(8100)

1.although g4560 best budget cpu it might not be a good option to buy it as intel offering quad cores at a cheap price (i3's price) and yes i3 8100 is the target .

So I am confused about which one should I go....?

In addition

1. tell me the actual release date of coffee lake

2.what is the price of i3-8100 and 8300?

3.any information about coffee lake Pentium?

1. No one has a definitive date

2. No one has a definitive price, but expect just above $100

3. No information has been released for Pentium's but that doesnt mean they wont release them later in 2018

Get the G4560 at final sales. It's meaningless to buy Coffee i3s if you cant afford a graphics card and monitor after that.

1. Release in 2018, generally CPU's launch top end sku's first with delayed launches for lower core count

2. Probably $110 and $135-140

3. Hard to say if they will do pentiums. They might phase them out this cycle

I'd just get the g4560. You'll be waiting a long time otherwise

I agree .... but I might have the money later though (3-4 months or so)..... also I am looking for future proof of core count..... as dual cores might not last..... what would you do in this situation? TIA

Just save your money for when you can buy a cpu, board, RAM, monitor, and gpu together at the same time. Besides, if i3 becomes quadcore on Coffee Lake the Pentium will likely fill in that 2C/4T slot. There is no reason to rush out and buy cpu and board right now if you don't have a modern gpu and modern monitor to take advantage of it.

Again, the top end sku's will launch then (8700k, 8600k) the i3's wouldn't launch until later

Yes. This is how both Intel and AMD usually launch their new CPU's. It's because they will get their ROI (return on investment) faster with their more expensive CPU's since they bring in profit faster while selling less actual cpu's compared to lower cost (and possibly lower profit margin) cpu's like i3's and Pentiums.

The g4560 cannot be overclocked. Older skylake chips could be "overclocked" by tweaking bios settings but a bios update fixed that, and kaby lake chips including pentiums have never been able to do this

You should have info on i3 pricing an release date around the time the i7's are launched. I'd at least wait a month and see how far away the actual release window is, then decide if you want the g4560 or i3
