SLOW BOOTING ON WNDOWS 10

i have a wb internal harddisk 500gb when i on my computer it takes 3min  i also try reinstall windows 10 but no improvement any solution guys

if it's an old HDD, that might be totally normal.

i have msi z170a m5 msi fastboot enable bro  i also watch youtube max 1min it will open but my comp it takes 3 min why

I see you've made this thread before. As was said in there, you really just need an SSD. There simply is little that will help with spinning drives.

That's an external HDD. Not only will you be unable to install Windows on it unless you have the proper versions for Windows To Go, but you'll have even slower boot times thanks to the USB interface. Even with USB 3.0, it'll be much slower than the SATA interface of your current drive. The one minute boot up with Fast Boot you saw is with a SSD or a fresh copy of Windows. When I mean fresh, I mean, just installed Windows and nothing else to clutter it up, not even Chrome. 

 

Like everyone has said, either get a SSD, or live with the 3 minute boot up time.

Fastboot doesn't help too much.

 

Windows 10's Fast boot is more detrimental to a system than it's worth. (It effectively does a shutdown then hibernate when you turn it on).

 

If you want faster boot times then buy a SSD.

Hence why Samsung's Magician software disables it by default.

Sounds about right for a normal hard drive. Only surefire way you can drop it is by installing Windows on an SSD. You could try defragging it, but unless you're sitting at 20% fragmentation it won't make much of a difference.

And this is a terrible idea because you're going to get even WORSE boot times. Most external drives top out between 90-130MB/s sequential reads and writes, and the random reads (aka loading anything like Windows and applications) are significantly lower.

you have to boot just once...

 

I'd be okay with people complaining that their games or documents load slow, or that the project compile takes too much time...

but nobody ever complains about that, everyone complains about boot time...

3 minutes to boot in a HDD is NOT NORMAL, even less after a clean install, there is obviously something wrong with the system.

Every one is saying it because it's true. Hard drives are the biggest bottle neck in any system. Not only in terms of read speeds, but also access time. Hard drives are mechanical devices that require movement of the head to read data. All of this adds up when you consider all of the extra stuff Windows does when booting up nowadays. I used to wait 5 minutes after pressing the power button on my laptop, just to open word to take notes during lectures. The standard 750GB HDD prevented what an Core i7 and 16GB RAM experience should've been. Even my friends who aren't tech savvy looked at it and said, you sure that's an i7?

Likely normal due to the slower nature of a mechanical hard drive, but is it three minutes from power on to being able to use the computer, or three minutes from power on until you see the Windows start screen? If you get to the animated Windows 10 loading screen quickly, but then it takes a long time to start, then it may be performing as normal (hardware-wise, at least).  You could see if safe-mode lets you get into the OS more quickly to see if maybe drivers are being slow to load.  If it's taking a long time to get to Windows 10, I would be asking if your voltages are correct, if you have any add-in cards that are also loading at POST, etc.

If you don't want to get a SSD, a newer hard drive at 7200rpm will work much faster. Also ensure that your boot drive is connected to a sata 6gb/ps port
